I sighed and walked outside onto the patio carrying the food. I grinned at Luke who had been roped into the same job I had. He gave me a cheeky smile and made his way over to me placing the bowl he was carrying onto the nearest table.
“Not a Luke girl aye?” he snickered walking past me, heading back into the kitchen.
As I was placing the plate on the table Luke came back out of the kitchen carrying a tray of party pies.
“Sorry to get your hopes up babe but you’re friend zoned,” I giggled as he walked past.
“Heartbreak girl,” he sang through his laughter. I couldn’t help but join in as I walked back into the kitchen to find my mum and Liz deep in conversation. They stopped talking when I walked in the room. I rolled my eyes and grabbed a plate of sausage rolls.
“You don’t have to hide the fact that you were talking about Luke and I. It’s obvious enough without all the secretive whispering,” I stated walking back out the door only to bump into Luke.
“You look frustrated,” he muttered letting me out the door.
“You should be too. I don’t think our mums will give up on us dating even though we’ve just met.”
“Well I say we ignore it and we keep on doing what they want us to do and when the boys get here we’ll have a little party of our own. Michael always brings enough alcohol for a small army.”
“I can add to that alcohol I’ve got a water bottle full of straight vodka that mum thinks is water.”
“Sneaky,” he replied. “Want a drink to get started?” he asked opening the large esky and grabbing out a Corona.
“You got any Cruisers?” I asked watching Luke rummage through the esky.
“Pink or blue?”
“Blue thanks,” I answered as he passed me the bottle closing the lid of the esky.
He leaned against the wall and sighed taking a sip of his drink I walked over and sat cross-legged on the esky.
“You mind opening this for me?” I asked holding up my unopened bottle. “I can’t get the cap off.”
He laughed quietly and took the cap off with ease handing the bottle back to me. I looked at my watch before taking a sip.
“What time is it?” Luke asked noticing me looking at my watch.
“Ten past five,” I replied as he groaned. “Is something wrong?”
“We’ve got ages until the boys get here.”
“Damn,” I muttered taking another sip of my drink.
So I got sick of waiting til Tuesday and I'll probably update again tomorrow xD
