"Do you think she's still friends with him on Facebook?" I asked Calum as we walked down the hallway. He shrugged.
"Maybe. How bout we check in the computer lab?"
I agreed and followed Calum over to the libraries computer lab. He quickly logged onto a computer and then got onto Facebook.
"Alright, let's look this Brad up." He spoke as he typed his name in.
A couple seconds later, a 'Bradley Simpson' appeared in Emily's friends list. Calum gave me a nervous look before clicking onto the guys profile.
"Look through his pictures. Maybe he didn't delete any of them together." I suggested.
Calum scrolled through the guys pictures until he came across one with a girl in it.
They were standing on a bridge. Brad had his arms around the girl with long dark hair just Luke Calum's. She was smiling up at him and that's when I new it was her.
"This must be her and Brad together." I told Calum.
"Of course it's her. I wish it wasn't." Calum sighed out.
"So what're we gonna do now?"
"I got talk to her." Calum suggested.
"Maybe you shouldn't. I think she's still mad." I told him.
"Alright. Then you go talk to her. And tell her that I'm really sorry."
Calum and I parted ways and I started looking for Emily. I walked around the halls for a couple minutes until I reached the courtyard. She was sitting alone at one of the tables with her head in her hands. I slowly walked over to her and took a seat.
"Calum go away. I'm still mad at you." She mumbled horsely.
"I made sure Calum didn't come and find you." Emily looked up to the sound of my voice. When she realized I wasn't Calum she quickly turned away and started wiping at her eyes.
"Sorry Luke. I thought you were Calum." She sniffled.
She was still crying. Whatever happened in her last relationship must've broken her badly.
"Emily, who's Brad?" I asked softly.
"I-I already told you. He was my overprotective ex-boyfriend." She explained without looking at me.
I got up and sat in front of her.
"I once had a girlfriend who was really possessive and overprotective of me because she thought that she'd lose me. I obvious didn't like that and broke up with her. It was over. It never made me upset because I knew someone better would come along." I looked deep into her eyes when I said the last part.
"If this Brad guy was kinda like my ex-girlfriend, why are you so upset? Did he ever do anything to you?"
That's when Emily broke down. She crumbled into my arms and sobbed into my shirt. I didn't mind though. It felt nice to know that Emily felt safe in my arms. She didn't care if she was crying into my shirt. I liked that she could show her emotions and be vulnerable with me.
"I-I was so shocked the first time he did it. I couldn't believe he would hurt me like that." Her voice was shaky as she spoke.
I pulled her out of my arms so I could look into her eyes. With my thumb, I wiped her tears away. "Emily what do you mean?"
She dropped her head. "It's quite embarrassing that I let him beat me for that long. I was so happy when I found out I was moving back to Australia. I knew Brad couldn't stop me from that like he stopped me from going to the dance academy. At least I was far way from him."
I sat there in pure shock. I didn't know how to respond. She was abused by her boyfriend. How can I even start to make her feel better?
I looked down at our hands that were locked together. She was wearing a whole bunch of bracelets.
"Emily I don't think you can ever forget about what that asshole did to you but you can use the hurt and make yourself stronger. You can turn this into a positive. Don't let this Brad guy ruin your life."
"I guess your right. If it never happened and Brad was actually a good boyfriend, I would've fought to stay back in New York. Then I would've never met you. Brad doesn't deserve me. And he was wrong for ever laying a finger on me."
By now Emily had stopped crying. Instead she was smiling up at me. "Thanks a lot Luke. Your like my warrior." She gave me a warn hug.
"I'll always protect you."
Emily laughed before pulling herself away from me. "We should head back to class." She told me.
"Alright." I started walking ahead of Emily until she called me back.
I turned back to her and raised a brow. She gave me an innocent smile before standing on her tiptoes and placing her lips onto mine. I didn't want to scare her so I kissed her softly and gently placed my hands around her waist.
When Emily wrapped her arms around my neck, she deepened the kiss which surprised me.
"Wow." I breathed out after pulling away. She grinned at me before pulling me into the school.
