I don't get it. One minute Emily's pushing me away telling me that there can never be an us. The next she's kissing me telling me she wants to trust me. How am I supposed to believe that? It feels like a trap but I know I'd do anything for Emily and I barley know her. Why do I feel like this?
"Emily do you even want to be with me?" I asked while raising a brow.
"Well ya, you're a nice guy Luke."
"Okay," I ran my fingers through my hair. "But that isn't enough for you, right?"
She nodded her head. "I like you and want this to work but it's gonna take me a while for my guard to drop."
I grabbed her hand and laced our fingers together. "I guess I'll just have to prove myself to you."
It was Saturday morning and the sun was shinning through my blinds making me want to crawl under the covers. I hated when this happened. There was no point in trying to go back to sleep now.
I crawled out of bed and headed over to my washroom I brushed my teeth and washed my face. After I quickly threw my hair up into a top knot and headed for the kitchen.
I poured myself a bowl of cereal and took a seat on the sofa and started watching cartoons since there was nothing better on.
"Hey." Calum said as he walked into the living room. He took a seat beside me and started eating my cereal.
"Not gonna get your own?" I raised a brow.
I rolled my eyes and handed him the bowl.
"The boys should be here soon." Calum said with his mouth full.
"Are you guys gonna post a cover or something?"
Calum shrugged. "We need to pick a song though. Have anything in mind?"
"Hmm how bout Teenage Dirtbag?"
Calum grinned at my idea. "That might actually work. Thanks Em." Calum gave me a kiss on the cheek just as the doorbell rang.
"That's probably them."
A few minutes later the boys walked in with their instruments and started heading to the basement.
"Hey Emily, you can come hang with us downstairs if you want." Calum called from the stairs.
I walked over to the door and walked down the stairs into the basement to see the boys setting up.
"Emily suggested that we should cover Teenage Dirtbag." Calum spoke as he plugged his bass in.
Luke made eye connect with me and gave me a smile.
"We should play an acoustic version." Luke said.
Michael grabbed his acoustic guitar and started strumming out the tune. Ashton grabbed his cajon and they all sat down.
"You could film us." Calum said as he was pointing to the camera on the table. I took the camera and turned it on. After getting used to the controls I pressed play and started recording the boys.
Once they finished we posted it online on their youtube channel.
"That was great guys." I grinned.
The started to put their instruments away and I told them I'd get them some drinks and snacks if they were hungry.
As I was walking up the stairs I felt someone grip my waist making me jump.
"Luke you scared me to death." I glared at him but he gave me his puppy dog eyes.
"I'm sorry." His lips met my cheek making a blush appear. I let out a groan and escaped his grip and walked up the rest of the stairs.
"So I was wondering if we could hang out." Luke said as he caught up to me.
I started pulling things put of the pantry like chips and cookies and setting them on the counter. I grabbed a bowl and poured the chips into the bowl and handed it to Luke.
"Okay. What do you have in mind?"
Luke reached into the bowl and pulled a chip out. "How bout bowling?" He asked whilst shoving the chip in his mouth.
"Sure. Sounds fun."
I found some cups and grabbed the pitcher of lemonade out of the fridge and poured the juice into the cups. Luke helped me bring down the four of the cups and we walked back upstairs to get the rest. As we neared the door Luke pulled me back making me crash into his chest.
"Luke, what're you doing?" I asked nervously. He was looking deep into my eyes so intensely that the hairs on the back of my neck stood up.
"You're beautiful, you know that right?" He said softly. His hand stroked my blushing cheek making my stomach tighten.
With a cheeky smile playing on Luke's lips, he pulled away from me leaving me feeling empty. I was starting to really like him being that close to me.
"C'mon beautiful." Luke grabbed my hand and the bowl of chips and we walked downstairs together.
"Took you long enough. Gimme!" Ashton said as we stepped into the basement. He grabbed the bowl of chips from Luke's hands and started eating them.
"What were you guys doing up there?" Mikey asked innocently. He looked up from the bowl of chips and raised a brow when none of us answered.
"You guys weren't," Michael made a hand gesture, "you know?"
My cheeks became even darker when Calum burst out laughing. I covered my face with my hands. I could feel Luke wrap an arm around my shoulder and gave it a squeeze.
"We didn't do anything. And it's mine of your business if we do." Luke stated. I looked up from my hands to him and he gave me a wink.
"Woah, who are you and where's Luke Hemmings? I know he's not that confident." Ashton laughed.
I wrapped my arm around Luke's waist and rested my head on his shoulder. "I guess you boys haven't noticed how confident Luke really is."
