I woke up the next morning to a unusually bright light shining in my eyes. I knew for a fact that my bedroom doesn't face any sunlight in the morning.
Once my eyes are adjusted to the light in the room I look around. The walls are covered with posters of rock bands and a couple guitars were hanging.
My eyes shot open when I realize that I'm not in my room but in Luke's.
The clothes I was wearing yesterday are neatly folded in a pile on the chair so I grab them and get dressed. I soon find my phone on the dresser and sneak down the stairs as quietly as possible.
I'm only a few inches away from the door when my clumsy foot hits a side table.
"Emily? Is that you?" I hear Luke say from within the house. I swear under my breath before walking over to where his voice was.
"Hey. I was about to leave." I tell Luke. He's in the kitchen cooking breakfast. When he looks up at me he hands me a plate of food.
"Just have some breakfast. I also wanted to talk to you." Luke pats the empty bar stole next to his before taking a bit of his pancakes.
"Okay. What did you want to talk about?" There's a million questions I could think of but right now I felt stuck.
"Ya. About last night. Yesterday at the party. I didn't think you'd be there."
I roll my eyes "Me neither. Sorry if I acted weird. I can't remember much." I tell him. He stares at me for a moment before nodding his head. It was like he was thinking if I really remembered or not. Honesty, I don't remember a thing. I must have drank a lot.
"It's okay. It wasn't bad. You just freaked out on a girl that I was dancing with." Luke awkwardly scratches the back of his head with a chuckle.
My eyes widen as the memory floods back to me. I remember how I saw Luke from the corner of my eye dancing with some blond bimbo and suddenly they were kissing. I was so mad. I just couldn't handle it.
"Shit. I remember. I'm sorry." I say truthfully. If Luke really is over me I'm not going to stop him from dating again. I won't ruin his life.
"For what? You actually did me a favour. Brianna can get way to clingy."
I blink a few times. "Then why'd you guys kiss?" I ask softly. Luke sighs. "I hope you didn't see that. She kissed me. I really wasn't looking for a hook up when I went to that party. I just wanted to have some fun."
"Because of me, right?" I run my fingers through my hair. I'm feeling a little stressed at the moment to be honest. With all this boy drama in my life.
"Nah, you're good." He grins before continuing to eat his pancakes. I sit there feeling lost and confused. What has become of Luke and I? Are we friends or not?
"I think I should get going." I say without thinking about it. Luke agrees before walking me to the front door.
"I guess I'll see you at school." He says dryly. It's like his whole mood changed.
"I guess so." I watch as he slowly closes the door but I stop it with my foot.
"Luke wait. I need to say something and I've been holding this in since our fight. Even though we're over I just want to let you know."
Luke opens the door again and nods his head. "What is it?"
My mouth feels dry. My hands start to sweat and I feel a bit dizzy.
"I think–" I cut myself off whilst shaking my head. "I'm just going to say it. No regrets. Luke Hemmings, I'm in love with you."
