The next day during Transfiguration class, Hermione raised her hand to ask a question. Nobody even raised an eyebrow, it was rare for Hermione's hand not to be in the air.
"Yes Ms. Granger?" Professor McGonagall asked.
"Professor, I was wondering you would tell us about the Chamber of Secrets" Hermione asked slowly. Suddenly all eyes turned to McGonagall in sudden interest.
Professor McGonagall was slightly taken aback but began the tale, "Well the Chamber of Secrets is a myth. It was rumored that one of the founders of Hogwarts hid a beast in the castle to rid the school of Muggle borns. Three of the founders accepted the idea of Muggle borns, one did not."
"Three chances who..."Ron whispered loudly.
"Salazar Slytherin," Professor McGonagall continued, "Thought it would be best if the magical art was kept in magical blood. It was said that the hiding place of his monster could only be opened by the heir of Slytherin. Needless to say the castle has been searched many many times but the Chamber has never been found."
Professor McGonagall looked at the stunned faces of the second-years, "Let me stress that this is a myth. There was no proof that it even existed in the first place! Now, let's all continue our lesson."
Later that day while Harry, Ron, Hermione and Scarlett were doing homework in the library, the topic of the Heir of Slytherin came up.
"I bet it's Malfoy. Who else do we know that hates Muggleborns as much as much as him?" Harry said.
"How are we supposed to know? It's not like he'll tell us." Scarlett asked.
"I bet Crabbe and Goyle know, he'll tell them anything." Ron added.
"Yes, but how are we supposed to get the information out of them? They aren't that thick." Scarlett said.
Hermione suddenly got up and rushed away to a far end of the library. She returned a few moments later carrying a massive book. It's pages were wrinkled and torn and it looked like something had been spilt on it.
"What we need is to look Crabbe and Goyle, not get the information out of them." She told the group.
"And how the bloody-"
"RON!" Hermione exclaimed, looking around the corner for a teacher,
"-hell, are we supposed to do that?" Ron finished at a lower tone.
"The Polyjuice Potion of course." Hermione replied.
"Wait....what?" Scarlett asked.
"Trust you to listen to Snape, Scarlett." Hermione said sarcastically.
"Well, gee, I don't have anything better to do than listen to whatever the bloody evil, teacher Snape has to say!" Scarlett whispered.
"She's right Hermione." Harry and Ron replied.
"But, you know the ingredients." Hermione pointed out.
"Pfft, I was reading ahead before class, I don't pay attention." Scarlett replied as Hermione rolled her eyes as she flipped through the pages and stoped at the right page. "Anyway, this is the most difficult potion I've ever seen."
"Probably why it's only attempted by N.E.W.Ts students, Hermione." Scarlett pointed out smartly. Hermione gave her a stern look before continuing, "We'll going to have to sneak this stuff."
"No problem." Harry and Scarlett said in unison, mischief in their grin and all over their faces.
"Bloody hell it's scary when you do that!" Ron replied.
"What would we need?" Harry asked.
"Everything Scarlett said." Hermione replied.
"Duh," Scarlett replied and added at Harry's horror struck face, "I remember them I didn't listen."
"Who's going to distract Snape?" Harry asked. All six eyes trailed to Ron.
"Oh, no, he'll know something is up." Ron said.
"Not you," Scarlett replied, "your BROTHERS!"
