Harry slowly approached the book. It was sitting in a massive puddle, Myrtle had flooded the bathroom again.
"Careful Harry." Ron said cautiously.
Harry picked up the book gingerly. He paused waiting for something to happen. Nothing did. He looked over at Ron and Scarlett and shrugged his shoulders. They brought the book back to the common room, trying all sorts of different spells to see what it did.
After a few hours, the fun wore off. Ron yawned and said goodnight to the twins.
"Night." Harry said, still staring at the book. The common room was empty by that point. Scarlett was starring at the book with her head on her arms leaning on the table.
"I'm just curious to know how it dried all by itself." Scarlett said. The book had been soaking wet when Harry put it in his knapsack but was completely dry when he pulled it out no more than fifteen minutes later.
Harry took a quill from his knapsack, dipped it in ink and hovered it over a blank page.
"Oh go on then." Scarlett said impatiently. Harry had just his hand to write something down when his quill dripped. A splash of ink landed on the page and promptly dissapeared.
"Did you see that?" Harry exclaimed. Scarlett's wide eyes answered his question.
"Write something." She whispered.
Harry dipped his quill in ink and wrote: My name is Harry Potter. To his surprise, the writing changed. Hello Harry Potter, my name is Tom Riddle. You have a twin sister, named Scarlett don't you? Scarlett's face would have been hysterical if Harry wasn't so scared himself.
Yes, I do, how did you know? He wrote. "Harry, you're probably not the only one who has come across this diary." Scarlett whispered.
"This thing has to be at least 50 years old. Ron told me that during detention, he had to polish the awards in the trophy room. Tom Riddle got an award for services to the school 50 years ago." Harry replied as Scarlett's eyes widened.
"Harry, the Chamber of Secrets was opened fifty years ago, what if Riddle caught the Heir?"
Harry dipped his quill in ink again and wrote, Do you know anythng about the Chamber of Secrets? Yes, I can't tell you, but I can show you. Riddle replied. The pages turned and the book started to glow, Scarlett and Harry were transported.
The place was in black and white colour. "Hogwarts." Scarlett muttered. She was indeed correct. The same corridor were Myrtle's Bathroom was located is where they were standing. Scarlett saw a body be removed from the corridor. Scarlett nudged Harry with her elbow. "Look." She said.
There was a Slytherin boy, about sixteen, with dark brown hair and blue eyes. "Tom!" A voice said firmly as Harry jumped. He turned to see a man with a short, white, beard and twinkling blue eyes. "Professor Dumbledore." The boy walked up to see Dumbledore.
"DUMBLEDORE?!??!" Harry half shouted as Scarlett clasped her hand over his mouth.
When Scarlett trusted that her brother wouldn't shout, she followed the boy named Tom, Harry followed her.
"What if all of these attacks stopped?" Tom asked.
"Is there anything you wish to tell me?" Dumbledore asked curiously.
"No sir, nothing." Tom replied.
Dumbledore nodded and left as Tom took off and went to an old place.
Scarlett and Harry followed.
Tom opened the door, and said "The monster must be killed, Hagrid."
A man, or half-giant, which the twins recognized as Hagrid said "He'd never hurt nobody!!"
"Monsters don't make good pets." Tom said and said a spell.
The trunk right next to Hagrid flew up, revealing a big black spider.
Scarlett gazed at that thing. It was about four feet big.
The spider ran out and Dumbledore came in. "Hagrid, I'm sorry, you have been expelled. And a reward in the trophy room, for Tom Riddle.
Harry and Scarlett were being pulled out of the memory.
"Hagrid," they called, then shouted, "HAGRID!!!" They soon found themselves back in the Gryffindor common room. That sat there for a few minutes, then heard someone scream.
