After breakfast the group walked to their Potions class. This term they were sharing the class with the Slytherins.
"Did you get it?" Scarlett whispered in Harry's ear. He nodded and they walked to their seat. After breakfast Harry had run up to his dormitory quickly and met them at the classroom.
"Class, today we be learning about Polyjuice Potions, and ah, Miss Potter can you tell me what the first ingredient is?" Professor Snape asked Scarlett
"Lacewing flies Professor." She replied.
"And the rest?" He asked.
"Um, leeches, flaxseed, knotgrass, and I think shredded skin of a bloomslang." Scarlett said.
"5 points from, Gryffindor for reading ahead. Miss Potter I wouldn't read ahead if I were you." Snape snapped.
"Sure thing Snivilius. " Scarlett muttered under her breath so only Harry could hear. He looked at her questioningly, "Remus and his friends used to call him that. She whispered.
"Quiet!" Snape told the class. He walked through the desks, his black robes swirling behind him. "Because the Polyjuice Potion is only attempted by N.E.W.T students, today we'll be attempting a similar but less difficult concoction. However, I doubt many of you will make it properly. Turn to page 54." Snape turned an hourglass on his desk, "You have one hour, begin!"
The students flipped the pages of their textbook until they found the right page. Snape had assigned them the Chelidonium Miniscula potion. The book said the potion was supposed to look dark-yellow when completed properly.
Scarlett who was always good at potions, had no trouble at all. By the end of that one hour, only Scarlett's and Hermione's potion was perfect.
"Hmmm," Professor Snape examined the potions carefully. "I must say, these are the finest potions I've seen since I've started teaching, however, Miss Granger, yours is a shade darker. You will both receive good marks. Class you may go."
The students left the ugly, damp dungeon. "Miss Potter! A word?" Professor Snape called. Scarlett hung back. "You know that your mother was extremely exellent at potions as well as you?" He said. "Good job today." He promptly turned on his heel, leaving Scarlett stunned of what she just heard.
The Gryffindors hurried to their next class; Defense Against the Dark Arts.
"Ah, Harry!" said Professor Lockhart as they entered the room. "And who is this lovely young lady?" He added nodding towards Scarlett. "Oh, that's Scarlett--" Harry replied but what soon cut off by Lockhart .
"Ah a girlfriend? How very romantic!" "Oh, no we're not--" Scarlett attempted to reply but was again, cut off by Lockhart. "My dear child it's nothing to be ashamed of." He said. Harry and Scarlett took their seats.
"Now class, we'll be learning about Cornish pixies today." He said loudly. "I for one know how to handle them of course." He smiled and Scarlett rolled her eyes.
"Someone had better tell him we're related, not dating," She whispered to Harry. He laughed, drawing Lockhart's attention back to Harry.
"Nothing to laugh about Mr. Potter, Cornish Pixies are pesky little things. Let's see how you make of them!" Lockhart took the latch that was holding the pixies and ripped it off. The pixies were already out of control and Lockhart ran up the staircase into his office and locked the door.
"He expects US to take care of these things?" Scarlett was infuriated. "Yeah, just us four!" Ron replied and they looked around, no-one was in sight.
"Hemione do you know a spell?" Harry asked.
"Of course," Hermione replied, took her wand out and shouted "Imobulas!"
The pixies stopped and moved strait into their cage and the latch closed.
Ron was staring in awe while Scarlett was muttering to Harry, "When do you have a free period?" "After this class." Harry muttered back, just then the bell rang and the twins rushed out of the class room, Malfoy, they had learned by snooping in Harry's cloak had charms, which Scarlett was most excellent at. She was ready to make Malfoy pay.
One thing you don't do; you don't call a muggle-born a you-know-what right in front of Scarlett Potter, especially when that muggle-born was one of her best friends.
"Alright class!" Squeaked Professor Flitwick. "Today we will be learning about the water charm."
"Diffendo." Scarlett whispered pointing at Malfoys bag, it spit apart. Harry smiled. "We should probably leave now," he said, "we need to make it look like we were at the library."
They took off, silently, leaving Malfoy pink on his pale cheeks while he cleaned up his mess.
The Potter Twins, had just accomplished Plan-Get-Back-at-Malfoy which was what Scarlett called it.
