Liam goes to put Noah back in the crib as Leah drops the note and sits down, her hands shaking. "You can't leave me alone, ever," She whispers, and then she looks up at me, grabbing the collarbone of my shirt. "You can't leave me alone, Zayn, you need to protect me," she cries, her eyes full of pure terror. I am confused, shocked. "What are you talking about, Leah?" I ask, and she points to the ground where she dropped the note. I pick it up, and sigh when I read it.
Give me Leah, or else.
~ You know who
"Leah, who do you think it is?" I ask her, but she shakes her head, and throws her face into her hands, her breathing shaky. She shrugs, but then looks up at me. "Zayn, why is every one after me? Why is my life in constant terror? Why can't my child live a normal life, and why can't I?" She whines. Louis walks over to Leah, and kneels in front of her. He is looking down. "Leah," He begins, "I know this seems like a lot of crap is on you right now and there is, um, no, I didn't mean it like that," He says, awkwardly, "But, uh, I think, we need to really make sure that we always have each other, you know, for the baby, and so you can be protected, and stuff," He shrugs, and then he looks up at her with his blind eyes and pulls out a ring. "Leah, will you-" He begins, and Leah smiles, but they are both cut off by the sound of Noah's screams coming from his crib. We race towards it, Leah guiding Louis to the room, but we are too late.
The window is open.
And Noah is gone.
