"Louis," I say, "The doctor says he can restore the vision in your good eye." Louis smirks as I continue, "But you are going to need to have surgery, and it's going to be tonight," I explain, and his smirk vanishes. "We don't know if your eye will get any better or worse. It is better to do it now than wait," The doctor adds. Louis nods. "I'll prep for the surgery," the doctor says, and then he disappears. "Leah?" The doctor calls, and I follow him out to the hallway. "You are going to have to leave and pick Louis up in the morning, It's going to be a while and we can't have extras hanging around. We'll do our best," He explains. I nod, and then turn around to find Louis behind me. "Don't go," He whispers, his lips trailing up my cheek. "Louis, I have to. I'll see you tomorrow," I say, but he grabs my wrist. "I love you," He reveals, but I shake my head, wondering what to say to him. I don't know if I love him.
I love Harry.
Zayn pats me on the back, and invites me to see the rest of the boys, but I turn down the offer. I don't want to intrude. Not now. Something tells me they don't want me around.
"Thanks mate. I'll swing by, yeah? I want to see Leah," I say, staring past Zayn, not wanting to look him in the eye, still ashamed of all I have done to everyone. "I don't know when she'll be home. She mentioned something about wanting to stay in town a few days, right before she left. She might not, I don't know. I think she is just tired. Tired of being cooped up in this little room for years with all of us. She's had enough, I guess," He sighs, but I assure him that's not the case. "She likes to travel. She likes to move around. It's not you, or anyone else. Maybe she's running from me," I shrug.
Zayn smiles, but it does not reach his eyes. "See you around, Harry," He says, shutting the door behind me.
I do not have time to react when I am whipped away from the door, nobody else aware. A hand is clamped over my eyes, and my feet struggle to keep up with the large figure dragging me away from the house. He rips his hand away from my face and my eyes rest on Isaac, who's nails are digging so far into my skin I am afraid they might break through the surface. "I told you not to tell them the truth. You were supposed to have everyone believe I was good for Leah. NOT YOU," Isaac spits.
A twisted grin grows on Isaac's face. "And now," He says, "I am going to kill Leah and all her little friends."
It's been an hour since Louis has gone into the operating room. I know I should have left. I couldn't. I couldn't just leave him there all alone. How can I be sure that the surgery will be a success? What if it is? I want my face to be the first thing he sees.
My phone rings. I fish it out of my purse and answer the call- It's Zayn. He's in a panic. "Leah," He breathes, almost yelling, "Get home. NOW. It's Noah. Something's wrong."
