I spring up in bed, The sound of ticking startling me. The nightmares keep getting worse. Louis sits up in bed beside me. "Leah? What wrong?" He asks, stroking my arm, although, being blind, his eyes never leave the spot directly in front of him. "The nightmares, that's all," I sigh, trying to fall back asleep. "They haven't gotten better have they? They started right after Harry threw you out," He says, and I sniffle. It's been two years. He hasn't come back for me yet, but I don't care. I haven't gotten over him.
But I've taken a certain liking to Louis. So much so, that we started sleeping in the same room, Noah sleeping with Liam in his room, and then we started sleeping in the same bed. It's gotten better, between us.
I haven't heard anything from Harry.
Losing him started the nightmares. The ticking. The clock.
I feel like I don't have much time before he moves on to another girl. Forgets about me completely. Because I'm sure he has.
So the clock is always ticking, signaling me losing time to regain his trust and his love. Always. I see it every time I close my eyes. And it continues. Tick tock.
I hear a something rustle outside the motel window. I see a shadow. I freeze. My hands creeps over to Louis so I can wake him up, but my hand rests on an empty pillow.
Weird. I didn't hear him leave.
I sneak out of bed, and suddenly, Noah starts crying. And Liam shouts. And Zayn shouts. And Niall shouts. And Louis sits before the front door with a note in his hand, the door wide open, swinging in the wind. "What do you have, Louis?" I stutter, getting closer, but moving as slowly as I can. Liam holds Noah's hand, Noah is two, and is almost ready to stand on his own.
"Louis?" I repeat, and he whips around at the sound of my voice, his facial expression full of fear, as he wouldn't know what was going on. He sticks out his hand in front of him and hands me the note. "I was standing here, the door flew open, and someone shoved this into my hand," He whispers. I gulp, unfolding it and reading it aloud.
Give me Leah. Or else.
