5. Chapter Five
The door closed in front of me and Lily was gone. Jovan released me and disappeared into the darkness of the hall. Good for him because if he had not I would have punched him until his fangs went flying!
“I said your sister could leave. Not you,” Eliezer’s voice sounded from behind me.
“Why can’t I leave?” I asked feeling something bad was about to happen, “I promise I’ll let you feed on me another day.”
The two brothers laughed. It freaked me out.
“Kaylynn didn’t teach you anything?” Jovan asked, “It’s not a one-night-stand to feed on humans. It’s a … well a forever-night-stand.”
Forever? I felt my knees becoming weak. Threatening to make me fall to the ground.
“Yes. We only make deals lasting forever … or at least the lifetime of the human,” Eliezer explained with the same voice as the old fashioned teacher my father made parodies about once.
“Okay. Now I know. Can I go?” it was a last desperate attempt, I knew that but I had to try and keep being strong. I had to get out. I had to get back home to Lily! What was she going to do without me? She could not even boil an egg without blowing up half a kitchen!
“No. I can’t just let my meal out of sight. Anyone could try to take it from me. We are not the most cultivated creatures,” now Eliezer’s voice came from in front of me, “But you already knew that. You’re such a smart girl. Kaylynn told me that.”
I could not be more uninterested in what Mrs. Piersall had to say about me. I did not want an A+ I wanted to go home, cry myself to sleep and figure a way to get myself out of this mess!
“Just let me go home!” once more I walked towards the door. The butler cut me off. I did not even have the strength to fight him – it all felt so hopeless!
“You’re already home,” Eliezer announced and I could only too well imagine his evil smile with fangs and all lurking in the dark somewhere, “Take her to her room, Micheal.”
