I looked down the hallway, "I know your staring at him." I turned around, "And you aren't? Come on, he's the most attractive kid in this school." Maddie laughed, "And the weirdest." I fixed my beanie, "He's coming this way, be cool." George walked up to me, "Your Tatum, right?" I nodded, "Yea." He handed me my notebook, "You left it in English. Your a really talented writer." He smiled, "Thanks. You read it?" He nodded, "Well yea. Really deep stuff." He flipped his hair and walked away, "What did you write about?" I looked at Maddie, "Him. Name and all. Now he knows I like him." She shrugged, "Is that such a bad thing, you've liked this guy since first grade. Maybe it's a good thing he knows." I grabbed her shoulders, "No it's not. He's the captain of the football team, in a band, most popular, and he plays guitar." She shrugged, "Your point being?" I sighed, "He doesn't belong with a girl like me." I shook her, "Okay, I get it, now stop shaking me, I think I'm gonna be sick." I slowly stopped, "I'm just nervous. What if he doesn't feel the same way? What if he thinks I'm just a weird girl with a crush on him? What if-" Maddie cut me off, "I get it. Stop talking, he's coming back." He walked past us and up to his locker, "Calm down." I started breathing again and grabbed my skateboard, "You coming over later?" She smiled, "Yea, it's Friday. Movie night." She walked out with me and grabbed her bike, "See ya later." I smiled, "See ya."
