We heard Annabelle screaming about an hour ago, and then everything went silent. I heard her wishing for someone to help her, and wishing for her father in her head. Maybe he heard her, but I wish she didn’t have to be in so much pain.
I can tell when she’s hurting, and when she needs help, because that’s when I know to be near and help her through. Right now I can’t do that though, and it’s killing me. My purpose is to protect Annabelle, and I can’t do that right now. It’s hard, because I just want to be right by her side and stop Zayn, Liam, and Niall from hurting her and using her anymore. It’s not fair. She didn’t do anything to deserve any of this.
A while later, the door opens. Liam carries Annabelle in the room. She’s passed out, and they’ve brought her wings out. Her face is stained with dry tears, and her mouth is opened slightly. Her wings are snow white and mostly translucent. There’s a bit of a sparkle, maybe even a shimmer to them, and they look small and fragile, like Annabelle.
Liam lays her on one of the beds on her stomach, and then walks out without a word. After he shuts the door, I ask Louis, “She’ll be okay, right?”
He nods, “It probably hurt, but I mean, they’re her wings; they aren’t necessarily supposed to stay hidden forever.”
I nod a little, and am about to ask if we should wake her up, but hear a voice in my head, Harry, you keep my daughter safe until I get there. I’m counting on you. I’ll find you as quick as I can.
Wha- YES! I look over at Louis and say, “Jophiel heard her. He’s coming to get us! She did it Louis! He’s coming!”
Louis’s eyes widen, and he smiles a little, “Thank God.”
I nod a little, and say, “We’ve just got to keep Annabelle safe until he gets here. But I mean, how long can it be before he finds us? I’m sure he’ll have everyone looking, right?”
Louis says, “Don’t worry; I’m sure it won’t be too long. We’ll be okay, and Annabelle will too.”
I nod a little, and then lay back on my bed. I close my eyes and sigh. Thank the Lord. Jophiel finally heard her, and he’s going to come and save the three of us. At least Annabelle is okay, I mean, he’ll be able to make it so the wings aren’t hurting her, and make sure that she’s alright. Heck, I could do that if we weren’t in this stupid room. I finally let myself relax and doze off a bit.
When I open my eyes, the room is dark, and Annabelle is over in the corner looking in the mirror at her wings. She runs her fingers over the edges, and turns to look at them from another angle. I watch her for a moment, and then say, “They’re pretty.”
She turns to look at me, and blushes a little, “Thanks Harry.”
I nod, “No problem, do they still hurt?”
She says, “A little bit, like when they move and stuff.”
I walk over and look at where the wings attach to her back, and see that they must’ve cut too far, because there are stitches on either end. I mean, I guess they just weren’t expecting them to be so small. I mean, they’re not really small, but they’re smaller than average if that makes any sense.. I say, “As soon as the cuts he made heal, they shouldn’t hurt anymore.”
She nods, and then asks, “So do they just always stay like this? Or can I like do stuff with them? I mean, I’m never going to be able to sleep on my back again if they don’t move or anything…”
I chuckle, “They can fold down, and you can lay on them. They’re actually quite soft. And trust me, there are plenty things to do with them. I mean, how do you think angels can get around so quickly? We can fly, obviously, and you know, they can help a lot with your vertical, and fold around you and make you invisible to the human eye…”
She asks in awe, “Wait, I can fly? And become invisible? You have got to be kidding!”
I say, “It’s true. It takes some practice, and a lot of concentration at first, but yeah. Once they let us go, I’ll teach you.”
She smiles and hugs me tightly, saying, “Thanks Harry, really.”
I shake my head, “It’s the least I can do. I kind of did get you into all of this accidentally.”
She sighs, “I tried to talk to my dad. I don’t think he heard me though… I’m sorry. I just wasn’t sure if there was a certain way to do it, but I did try, I promise…”
I look at her and say, “Hey, hey, don’t say that. You did it Belle, you made him hear you. He’s looking, and he’s going to find us. He’ll save us and get us away from here.”
She smiles, and asks, “Really?”
I nod, “I promise. He told me he’d come as quickly as he can. He’s looking, and he won’t stop until he finds you.”
She nods a little, and I’m about to suggest that she gets some rest, but we both hear a woman shriek, “Bells! Annabelle! Please help me!”
Annabelle looks up at me, and then just runs. She runs over to the door and keeps pulling on the handle. She’s crying and panting, and starts hitting the door with her fists. The screaming continues, and I’m trying to figure out why I recognize the voice. Then when Annabelle realizes that she’s not going to be able to get through the door, she screams, “Mom! MOM!”
What? They have her mother now? Shit. This isn’t good. What are they planning? I can’t even imagine what they would do. Could they be messing with her? Could this be one of their little tests on her? If so, that’s sick. Well really, any possibility is sick. Shit. What am I going to do?
Louis is awake by now, and he asks, “What’s going on?”
Annabelle sobs, “Th-they have my mom! They’re h-hurting her!”
I say, “Louis, we have to do something…”
Louis sighs, “I don’t know what we can do Harry. You know we can’t get through that doo-“
The door swings open and Liam grabs Annabelle by the arm and says, “You can come and see what happens when you make the same mistake twice. You should know there are consequences.”
