2. Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi (Shatter Me 1)
Shatter Me, Tahereh Mafi
Read: January 2012
In my opinion this book is a piece of art. Mafi's voice is original and so deep with emotion it almost hurts. Shatter Me is a new concept, but we are starting to know the genre; dystopian fantasy/Science fiction. This genre has been going forward the last couple of years, and it probably at it highest now. Shatter Me, Divergent, The Hunger Games, Delirium and so on. And Mafi is definitely one of the strongest and most unique voices in the new YA league.
Shatter Me is a strong book that could easily stand alone, but I am glad Mafi chose to make it a trilogy, because Juliette's story is not yet told.
The characters are all very alive and extremely special in all kinds of different ways. Juliette is doubting whether she is going crazy, and that alone is driving her to the edge. Adam is careful, gentle and loving, while Warner is his exact opposite. And yet... I have read Destroy Me you know, so I know a thing or two about Warner that Shatter Me doesn't tell.
All in all, I love this book, not to mention its sequel and spin-off.
Make sure to check this book and Tahereh Mafi out! You will not regret it!
