“Oh... Hi Zayn!” Harry exclaimed, waving at his friend. Zayn ignored him though and stormed out of the flat, almost bumping into Harry who watched him walk away with a shocked look on his face.
Once the sound of Zayn’s steps had faded away, he turned to look at me, the same expression still written on his face.
“Come on in,” I said, smiling to break the awkwardness of the moment. He nodded and walked in. I led him into the living-room and we sat down on the couch without talking.
Harry broke the silence a while later, “did I disturb you and Zayn?”
I shook my head, looking down at my hands. "No, you didn’t. He was leaving. Well... You saw so yourself.” I sighed. “He seemed to be in a good mood when he came... Maybe I said something wrong?”
“Mind me asking you what happened?” Harry muttered an awkward smile on his face.
“Well... I didn’t really understand it myself. I wasn’t expecting him to come at all but he did so I invited him to eat here. We were having a great time, really! I cooked so he kept laughing and teasing me.” I made a pause as Harry had just burst out laughing after I told him I had cooked.
“Sorry.” He calmed himself down after looking up at me.
I smiled weakly and carried on as if nothing had happened, “then we started to eat and it probably was the worst thing I ever ate to be honest.” Harry’s eyes sparkled with amusement as he tried not to laugh this time.
He raised his hand in the hair, smiling widely. “Go on! I didn’t laugh this time.” I rolled my eyes.
“You should have seen the look on his face! It was... It was just awesome!” I laughed. “Then, he started to tease me by saying I had wanted to poison him. It was pretty funny! But he started to say something else but he didn’t finish his sentence...” Harry raised an eyebrow.
“What did he say?”
I sighed, “he said I tried lots of time to poison him from cooking when we... And then he didn’t finish his sentence. His expression changed and he became moody. So I asked him what he had wanted to say. I may have shouted slightly too angrily at him...” I buried my head in my hands. “I told him he was hiding something and then... Then you know what happened next...”
Harry moved closer toward me and placed his arm around my shoulders. “Don’t worry, Lia. He won’t stay moody very long.” I shook my head before resting it on Harry’s shoulder.
“I shouldn't have yelled at him, but it’s just that I couldn’t help but think there is something I should remember but I don’t. Maybe it has something to do with Zayn?” I looked up at Harry but the latter avoided my look.
Suddenly, he exclaimed, “let’s think about something else! I didn’t come here to see you sad!” He winked and I nodded, smiling shyly.
“Hang on... Why did you come, by the way?”
He simply smiled but didn’t answer. Instead, he asked me, “so I gather... You didn’t eat?” I slowly shook my head and he chuckled.
“I better order something otherwise I think I’m going to die of hunger!” I exclaimed.
“I didn’t eat either so mind if I invite myself here? I can be the cook if you want!” he begged me and I nodded happily.
“Yay! At least, everyone’s going to stay alive tonight!” he teased me before we made our way into the kitchen.
I sat down on a chair and watched him cook for a long moment. It was a funny moment. He tried to be like a professional cook but he wasn’t really acting like one. Let’s just say he better clean the kitchen perfectly afterwards or Riley might kill him once she gets back. I didn’t know whether what he was cooking would taste good but the kitchen had begun getting messy ever since he started to cook.
“Here is your plate, Mrs Lia,” he said playfully with an exaggerated accent while putting the plate down in front of me. He winked and sat down on the other side of the table.
The dinner lasted for a long while and we had a great time. We talked for hours and he made me laugh a lot. I wished I could remember more of him!
It was starting to get late, he told me it was time for him to go. I helped him clean the kitchen and then we went into the hall.
“I really had fun tonight! Thanks for coming, Harry!” I smiled widely at him though I had to admit I was a little bit sad that he had to leave.
“I had fun too! Maybe I should come more often!” he joked but I smiled even wider at the mere thought of it.
“Well... I have to go... See you tomorrow Lia!” he exclaimed before turning around to open the door.
He started to walk out of the flat but stopped dead in the door frame. He turned around and looked me in the eyes in a way that almost troubled me. To my surprise, he stepped back toward me, closer than ever; so close I could feel his breath on my skin.
“Harry?” I whispered, looking him in the eyes. His expression seemed more serious and it felt like there was hope in his eyes.
“I... I better do that before you remember.”
I opened my mouth to ask him what he was talking about but he pressed his lips against mine before I could say anything. He then ended the kiss and ran away.
