~~"JAMES. GET YO FAT ASS OUT OF BED."
I ignored the stern look my mother was giving me and raced upstairs to my brother, James's room. As soon as I had entered the room, I pounced on him, causing him to grunt at the impact. I laughed.
"Ugh, Jas! Get the hell off of me!" I rolled off, grinning, and sauntered out of the room, winking at him. I stopped in front of the mirror in the hall, and peer at my reflection before deciding what colour I should have my hair today. I scrunched my eyes up in concentration, and when I opened them, I saw a teenage girl with purple hair and bright blue eyes staring back at me.
Oh yeah, something I should mention. I'm a Metamorphmagus.
It means that I can alter my appearance however I want to, but I try not to change much, just my hair mostly.
As I make my way back downstairs, I pass my brother's best friend, Sirius Black. He had moved in this summer, his mum's a bit of a bitch.
"Nice colour today, Jasmine," he grinned.
He laughed, and I rolled my eyes, walking into the kitchen. I eat my breakfast silently, trying to ignore all conversation.
I hated talking to people at the best of times, but seeing as we were going back to school today, meaning that we would be stuck on a train full of people I pretty much hated for more hours than I would like, I didn't really feel like being social just yet.
When we finally got to the train station, with only minutes to spare (thanks to dear James), out of the corner of my eye I caught a glimpse of flamey red hair. I turned to my parents and gave them quick hugs to say goodbye, before running over to my best friend, tackling her into a hug.
Lily tried to laugh, but she just ended up making a weird sort of choking noise.
Well done, Jazzy, strangling your friends the moment you meet them. Well done.
I untangled myself from Lily, and gave her a sheepish look as she rubbed her neck, looking slightly pink in colour.
"So, Jasmine, how was your summer?" she asked, and I smiled.
"It was very good, I just missed my bestest best friend!" I pinched her cheeks, cooing at her, and she slapped my hands away, turning considerably pinker.
She glared, and looked like she was about to do something similar in return, but the whistle for the train blew. I took this opportunity and abruptly grabbed her hand, dragging her towards a train carriage, our luggage trailing after us.
We settled down in the carriage, and immediately began to quickly change into our robes, not wanting to do it when the train was full and when anyone could walk in.
As the train began to set off, and only minutes after we had finished changing, Severus Snape walks in.
I'm friends with him, unlike my brother and his friends. Well, I say friends, we're more...acquaintances? I think that's the word for it?
He can be a bit of a stuck up git at times.
"So Jasmine, why were you strangling Lily?"
"I wasn't strangling her, I was hugging her."
Severus looked strangely confused at this concept.
"Why were you hugging her?" he asked, with genuine puzzlement.
I stared at him.
He obviously does not understand the concept of love and friendship.
I'm not really surprised, he doesn't have many friends.
Mainly because he acts like this all the time.
"Because, Severus - and this might be difficult for you to understand - but when one is friends with another person, or loves another person, they usually show signs of affection, such as hugging."
"Well, why you so good at potions?"
"What does that have to do with anything?"
"I'm making a point. There isn't a reason to why you're a nerd, same with why people hug."
He chose to ignore this comment, and instead said, "Where do you go on a full moon with your brother and his friends?"
I frowned. "That's a bit random? And anyway, it's not really my business to tell, nor yours to know."
Me, James, Sirius, and Peter became animagi in our fourth year, James being a Stag, Sirius a black dog, Peter a rat, and me being a snowy white wolf. We did this so we could accompany Remus on full moons, as he is a werewolf. These animals also gave us our 'Marauder' nicknames: James is Prongs, Sirius is Padfoot, Remus is Moony, and I'm Snowy.
Remus doesn't really like us doing it though, but pfft, he can't stop us.
Severus began rambling on about something boring and I yawned,
curling up to the train the window. Being social is exhausting.
The next thing I knew, Lily was shaking me awake; I must have fallen asleep when Severus was talking again.
It happens a lot.
"Wake up, Jas, we're at Hogsmeade!"
We get off the train and onto the platform, and we make our way to the carriages. Not far ahead of us, I spot James, Sirius, Remus, and Peter.
I turned to Lily, fluttering my eyelashes. "Please can we sit with them? Please please please!"
She rolled her eyes, sighing, and started walking towards them. Severus tutted, and walked away.
I grinned at her, and ran over and hugged Remus from behind, causing him to lurch forward and stumble, almost falling over.
"MOOONNNYYY HOW AREE YOUUU!?"
He laughed, and twisted slightly so he could hug me back. "I'm good thanks, Snowy."
He pried me off, and I wave at Peter, smiling.
He smiled back and waved nervously. "H-hi, Snowy."
I shrug my shoulders, and go back to stand next to Lily.
We all clamber onto the next free carriage, and once the boys had sat down, there was only one seat left for Lily and I.
"You take it, Lily," I said, before jumping onto James's lap, causing him to grunt for the second time that day.
"Hey there, twin!"
Lily gingerly sat down next to Peter and Sirius, and I winked at her.
We entered the Great Hall together, but once we had reached the Gryffindor table, Lily went off to sit further down the table, with our friends from our dormitory.
"LILY HOW DARE YOU LEAVE ME WITH THESE LOSERS!"
She rolled her eyes and ignored me. I scoffed.
"Well then, I see how it is." After a moment, I turned to James. "Mr Prongs?"
James looked up and grinned.
"Miss Snowy wishes to know when the next full moon is?"
"Mr Prongs is happy to inform Miss Snowy that the next full moon is tomorrow
