"Oh, hey Liam." I waved awkwardly.
"Hi." he said still staring at me.
"Is there something on my face?" I asked walking up and unlocking the front door. He just stood there still staring at me.
"I'll take that as a no? Are you gonna come in?" I asked walking inside. He followed me and my mom came out of the kitchen.
"Jr. Is that you? Oh and you brought a friend home! A boy! James, Jr brought a boy home!" my mom yelled of course causing my dad to run into the room faster than a track star.
My parentals call me Jr, because my initials are J.R.T. Jade and I look too much alike, so I got a nickname for some reason. Like, having a nickname makes your facial features different.
"Mom! It’s not like that! He's a friend of Jade's that I found outside!" I slightly yelled blushing because my mom is so embarrassing.
"Oh right. That makes more sense. You don't have friends." My dad said jokingly.
"Shut up old man." I said to him grabbing Liam's arm.
"Jade should be in her room." I said pointing to the door right across the hallway from mine.
"Actually I was here to talk to you. I have no clue how to read music and was wondering if you could help me." he replied.
"Again, Jade is the better choice. See ya!" I said walking into my room.
"Nice room." So he followed me? I turned around to ask him why he was in my room, but he picked up the photo of me and Jade the day she auditioned for The X Factor. I had it on a glass box.
"Don't touch that!" I screamed, startling him and making him nearly drop it.
"You may never touch any of my glass things. They are fragile!" I said ripping it out of his hands while shooting him a death glare. I had to look up at him, ruining my flow, because of how short I am.
“I’m sorry,” he said ruffling my hair. Really bro?
“Ughhhhh!” I shouted, “JADE!”
I heard her door slam open and hit the wall, before hearing her feet patter across the hallway to my room. She slammed my door open as well, and stopped immediately. She looked shocked and out of breath.
“What the hell is going on in here? Did you touch my little sister?” she shouted grabbing my arms and pulling me behind her.
“Well, no. I don’t believe I did,” he replied.
“He touched it,” I whispered.
“He touched it! Get the hell out of my sister’s room and don’t you dare ever touch her again!” she screamed.
Perrie and Raeden burst through the door, and both of their eyes grew wide.
“I did-“ he began. Perrie grabbed Jade and I, throwing us to the bed, out of her way.
“Did you not just hear her say get out?” Perrie screamed. Raeden walked slowly over to us, making the least amount of noise possible. She gave us a worried look, and sat on the bed next to us. Perrie pushed Liam out, and slammed the door. Then she walked over to the bed, picked me up, and hugged me. “Are you okay, love?” she asked.
“Yeah. Both Liam and I tried to tell you that he didn’t touch me. You should have known what I was saying, Jade,” I said.
“What do yo- OH! He touched the glass box, didn’t he?” she asked.
“Yeah,” I giggled.
“Oh my god, he probably hates us!” Perrie screeched.
“Wait, what did you think he touched?” Raeden asked.
“She said, ‘he touched it,’ what do you think I thought he touched?” Jade replied.
“Oh god!” I screamed. We all laughed.
I left a little bit early for school with Jaylin. Jade and Perrie were making us go tell Liam about the misunderstanding. She apparently needed to look nice today, so they stayed home, even though they were the ones that misunderstood. So we walked the two blocks to the flat the boys were staying in currently.
When we got there, Liam and Louis were standing outside on the front steps.
“What can we do for you lovely ladies?” Louis asked.
I laughed. He’s funny. “Well, Jade and Perrie are making us come apologize to Liam.” I answered.
“Their misunderstanding yesterday.”
“Oooh! What happened?”
“Well, Liam touched this glass box, and Jaylin told jade he touched it, but when she told her, she literally said ‘it’ and Jade thought Liam touched Jay’s vagina.” I’m surprised no one tried to cover my mouth at all while I said that.
Jaylin gasped and Louis and Liam burst into laughter. I began to laugh a little too. “Raeden! I can’t believe you said that like that!” Jaylin screeched.
“What else was I supposed to say?”
“Well we should leave.”
“Wait, Jaylin. Walk with me. Just let me go get my stuff,” Liam said.
“Well, I’ll just leave then.” I said.
“Nope, I’ll come with you. Let’s go,” Louis told me. I nodded and he walked beside me. “So, do you sing too?”
“No, not anymore. Just Perrie.”
“Well, I guess I just stopped.”
“Sing for me!”
“Because I just told you I don’t sing anymore.”
“I’ll sing if you do.”
“Did Perrie put you up to this?”
“Of course not. Why would I even do what she tells me to?”
“You guys are friends.”
“Eh, more like acquaintances.”
“Fine. Go first.”
“What should I sing you?”
“Whatever you want to. I’m easy to please.”
“Good to know!” he grinned. I felt the blood rush to my cheeks.
“Shut up. And just sing.”
“How can I sing if I shut up?”
“Hey there Delilah
What’s it like in New York City?
I’m a thousand miles away
But girl tonight you look so pretty
Yes you do.
Times Square can’t shine as bright as you.
I swear it’s true,” he began.
My smile grew as he sang on, and it wouldn’t go away.
“It’s what you do to me,” he finished.
I knew my face was smiling and blushing, so I turned away from him.
“Your turn!” he shouted.
“Sorry, unfortunately, we are at school!” I screamed running away from him. He chased after me, and before I knew it, his arms wrapped around my waist, and my feet came off the ground. He spun me so fast that I couldn’t see my surroundings. “Oh my god! Stop!”
“Promise you’ll sing if I set you down!” he shouted.
“I PROMISE!” I shouted.
“OKAY!” he shouts back as he sets me down. “Now sing to me.”
“Pull me in
Just like a riptide.
Go ahead and drown me
In your sweet soul
My heart is like
A split divide
Half of it beats for me,
While the other half beats for you.
Well it was me a Jose Cuervo with JT at a party
We’ve been dreamin a lot of
Pour me a shot of-“
“Whoa! That’s not singing!”
“Well I told you I don’t sing.”
“But you said you would!” he whined.
“Fine, pick a song and I will sing it.”
“Give Me Love, by Ed Sheeran.”
“Give me love like her,
'Cause lately I've been waking up alone,
Paint splattered teardrops on my shirt,
Told you I'd let them go,
And that I'll fight my corner,
Maybe tonight I'll call ya,
After my blood turns into alcohol,
No, I just wanna hold ya.
Give a little time to me or burn this out,
We'll play hide and seek to turn this around,
All I want is the taste that your lips allow,
My, my, my, my, oh give me love.”
“Why’d you stop?”
“I hate singing.”
“Oh, well I guess we’d better get to class. You’re fantastic by the way.”
“Thanks. Let’s go.”
