School. The place where we all have to spend our childhood and youth (well, at least if we want to have a decent job). In order to get the best memories of experiences you can you must make absolutely sure you fit in. Because, no matter what your parents think, school is not simply a place where you go to study. From the moment you step through the doors it becomes your habitat for the next at least four years. It’s much more than an education facility. You need to make sure you get friends, you have a proper seat, the teachers like you, you get friends. And also that you get friends.
Some may find this easier than others.
Like Thea, for example. On her first day at school she immediately freed herself from her mother’s grip and ran to meet the other children. She just had to say hello to every single one of them. Plus, she smiled quite a lot. She offered them to play with her amazing toys and ,you probably know how kids are, this just won her everybody’s affection. Not that she was trying to make them like her, she just did all of it naturally. Of course, this kind of affection followed her everywhere. Even when she grew older and she couldn’t simply offer the others to play with her toys. But somehow she always gave what the others wanted, she always had that amazing gift everybody wanted. And she didn’t even have to work to find what is it. All of this was completely natural.
Unlike Katya, who just kept holding her mother tighter on that first day. Her little tiny hand grasping to her mommy and her small eyes looking at the crowd of children who all seemed so different, so unlike her, so … scary. She would have never given her toys to them. She just wanted to stay with her mommy. Stay at home like they used to.
But we all know school is a necessity. No matter how much we rebel against it.
