I blink my eyes open and try to refocus on my surroundings, it certainly didn't look like Flynn's living room; the room I had fell asleep in last night. Instead I am confined by pale pink walls, there is a wardrobe in the far corner, a full length mirror next to it and a small chandelier is hanging elegantly on the ceiling. The crack under the door let the smell of coffee and burnt toast waft into the room, I stretch and I realise that I'm in a luxurious single bed. What's going on? I wonder, it must be at least 10am. I turn the quilts over to see myself wearing Flynn's same old pyjamas and as I turn my head I notice a little piece of paper on the bed side table. I grab it and read,
"Tried to wake you up, but you didn't. Had to bloody haul you into my car and now your'e in the estate. This is your official room for the next 30 days, there are clothes in the wardrobe, get dressed and come down. Flynn." I sigh when I finish reading, then I groan miserably while attempting to stand up. I realise I have work this morning so I walk over to the wardrobe and pull out a pair of high waisted shorts and stare at them almost about to laugh, I'm not surprised, all the clothes I find here are so damn expensive. In the end I settle for a pair of black jeans and a peach chiffon blouse. I find an identical pair of those black prada stilettos and slide them on. Whilst wondering what to do with my hair I find a few hair ties scattered on the bed side table and tie my hair into a lose braid. I stare down at the ring on my finger, the one Flynn gave me, it's design is very beautiful, but that still doesn't mean I would do anything to get it off. Honestly, the damn tracking thing is overrated and annoying.
I come down the spiral stairs, the scent of food getting stronger and I could feel myself starting to drool. Casper is at the stove cooking eggs as Henry pours himself a cup of coffee.
"Ah, so sleepy head has finally decided to come and join us for breakfast." Calls Mitchell from the sofa.
"Can I have some of that?" I point to the coffee mug in Henry's hand and before he could mumble a 'yes' in reply he makes his way to the machine.
"So how was your first night with Flynnie?" Says Casper with a cheeky grin.
"It wasn't a first anything," I say. "He just shut himself in his room and I didn't see him again."
All three of the men laugh in unison. "Yep, that's Flynn alright," says Henry, passing me a hot mug of coffee. I take a sip and start to speak.
"So... What do I do now?"
"Well," Mitchell rests his chin on top of the backrest of the sofa and beams at me, "I thought you already knew, you wanted to confess to the guy you like don't you?"
"Well, yeah... but," I start to stutter, "Am I allowed to leave the estate?" I shouldn't have asked.
"Only if Flynn goes with you, he has to keep an eye on you." Of course, Flynn would have to watch me the whole time.
"Well I'm going to work." I place the mug down and head for the door, the stilettos making that familiar sound that makes me feel even further away from home.
"Work? But what happened to confessing to your love?" Henry looks almost sad.
"I'll do that at work," I mentally faceplam myself at Henry's question.
"So, the guy you like works at the same company as you?" For demons they sure ask too many questions.
"So what kind of a guy is he?" asks Mitchell. I haven't actually thought about 'the one' since last year... His name is Xavier, he is one of the most popular amongst the people at the office, tall, handsome, pretty much the guy any girl would want. The last time I saw him he was making out with another girl, so much prettier than I, her name was Greta. I swore to myself I'd forget about him, and I did until now. I never realised I still like him though, when I said I wanted to live because I needed to confess, I guess I was... lying. I guess I'll make it my mission to tell him how I've felt about him for the past, who knows how long? What else do I have to live for?
"He's sensible, we don't see each other much though," I say flatly.
"Sensible?" Snorts Casper choking down his eggs, "How boring."
"Well, good luck," Henry gulps down the rest of his drink, "Seeing as you only have 30 days left."
"Thanks, I think it's time for me to leave," I say as I reach for the doorknob. Just as I was about to open the door one of them say,
"Wait! What about Flynn?"
Oh c'mon! I seriously thought I could get away with it.
"Ugh, just tell him I'm taking the bloody 23A bus into town at 10:45am. I have the tracking device thingy on me don't I? I'm going to be late!" I hurry out the door hoping one of them got the details, but just before I could shut the door Flynn is there yawning in a plain white t-shirt and a pair of jeans.
"Where do you think you're going?" He says with his eyes half open.
"You expect me to answer so quickly after you practically moved me when I was asleep!?" I sigh and without another word I walk out of the estate so that I could find the nearest bus stop.
"Run! Flynn I'm going to miss the fucking bus!" I yell as the bus nears the stop.
Panting extremely loudly, Flynn says, "I'm going to be sick..."
Seriously? I wonder if he's ever exercised in his life, would he be able to take this for the next 30 days?
"Flynn, are you okay? Oh, there's no time, here get in the bus." I haul him up as best as I can and stand awkwardly as there were no seats available.
"Why is it so crowded?" He mumbles into his fist. Has he ever been on public transport before?
"I'm sorry Flynn, there'll be more people getting on on the next stop," Just as I was saying, the next crowd of people pile into the bus and there stood Xavier. My heart stops, I had no idea he took this bus, will he notice me?
"Uhh... I can't take it, Blair, I wan't this whole bus to blow up." Oh, Flynn, more and more people kept piling in.
"Making threats won't get you out of this. Here," I say, "Come closer." But he already looks like he's being crushed, wait, his arms, they're so tense...
"I can't, Blair I can't." His arms lose their tension and the crowd collapses inward. My body is pushed into Flynn's and it seems as if he's whoa! My eyes stayed wide as Flynn braced his arms around me. I could feel his cool breath against the top of my head and his slender hands against my back. A shiver rose up my spine. But, I can't seem to breathe.
"Flynn, are you okay?" I struggle to say the words as my lips are pressed against his shoulder.
"Ugh, I'm going to throw up," he repeats his words before as he tightens his embrace.
"Don't do that, just a little longer," I assure him and wrap my arms around him. He's so cold, the bus is so stuffy, but he seems to be like a human refrigerator at the moment. Suddenly, the bus comes to our stop.
"Great! We're here, now let's go."
