Tears, Roses, and Desparation

FINISHED: Harry and Hermoine are devastated. Those closest to them have died after Voldemort's attack on Hogwarts. But hopes of moving on bring them closer together.

3. Forgiveness Paired With Tears

Hermione's POV

"Hi, Harry." I tapped him on the shoulder

"Hi," Harry replied not taking his eyes off the book he was reading

"So, what did you find?" I asked kneeling next to him

"Hattie, you know I am not looking for someone." Harry answered

"I am not Hattie, whoever that is." I raised an eyebrow

"Oh, hey 'Mione." Harry looked up at me

"Hey, I wanted to apologize." I winced

"We are fine," Harry smiled at me weakly

"You sure?" I asked

"Of course, 'Mione.  I know what you are going through, you cannot help it." Harry pointed out

Harry's POV

She looked very concerned that I forgive her.  When I said I was sure she smiled.  I noticed she looked like she had been crying again.  I stood up and put the book back on the shelf.  I turned toward her and I smiled pulling her into a hug.  She sobbed into my shoulder.

"It's okay, 'Mione, it's okay." I patted her back gently

She just kept crying.  I knew she did not like crying in public.  I rubbed her back and let her cry for a little while.  I smiled and pushed her away kindly.

"What?" She wiped her eyes and looked at me

"You do not like crying in public, do you want to go home?" I asked

"Oh, yes," Hermione nodded

"Come on," I smiled leading her to the exit

"I drove here," She told me

"If you want I can come get your car in the morning," I offered

She nodded.

"Okay," I said passing the front desk

"Hello, Harry.  Who is this?" Ms. Baker asked

"This is Hermione, a childhood friend of mine.  She is living with me since we are going through similar problems." I winced at her question

"Oh, I see.  Good bye, Harry." Ms. Baker nodded stiffly and went back to work

"Good bye," I replied politely
