We got home before Diane and Jon were home. It was understandable because it was only 8:30, but when it was ten o'clock they still weren't home. The lovely married couple finally arrived home thirty minutes after the hour.
"Allie! Farrah!" Diane's voice rang through the house. I jumped out of bed and ran down the stairs. She almost never called me down at this time. She'd usually wait until morning to tell me. Allies footsteps were heard behind me. D and J were beaming when we saw them in the kitchen.
"Guys," Diane smiled. "We have some big news!" Jon continued. "It's really big. We were late because we-"
"Just say it!" Allie finally said, speaking for the both if us. I nodded. "Okay," Diane breathed. "We have been thinking about this ever since you arrived 2 months ago and well..." Allie and I leaned forward. "We're changing your last name!"
A smile spread across my face. Farrah Carrasco. It sounded so much better than Farrah Jones. "Farrah Carrasco" Allie beamed, "I love it!" She hugged me. New name, new start. "We'll have to sign some papers later on..." Jon said.
"It might be a while..."
"Why?" I asked. "It's very early, but I think we'd all hate to see you leave so-" J began.
"Say it!" Allie and I simultaneously urged. They laughed... "You'll learn later on." Jon said, ending the conversation. Allie and I slumped, but said good night. "Ladies," Jon said, "we'll be leaving very soon as well for our anniversary, but we'll be gone longer than usual."
"Oh my gosh!" Allie said. She grabbed my hand and ran up the stairs. I bid her parents good night before I was dragged into my room. "Oh my God!" Allie said closing the door. "Their anniversary is in one week! Do you know what that means?"
"It means that they had their wedding a while back one week from now..."
"Don't be a smart ass," she frowned. I rolled my eyes, laughing. "We are going to have the house to ourselves, that's what it means!" She said. I laid down in my bed and covered myself with the covers. "And you need to put some stuff on your walls," Allie observed. "I know... now get out, please!" I said turning off the lamp on the nightstand.
"Good night, slut." Allie said with a smile in her voice.
"Go to your room, whore." I laughed. She giggled and turn the lights off.
BEEP BEEP BEEP BE-
I slapped the sleep button on my annoying alarm clock. Ew school! Lucky me, today's Friday! The only thug I'm not looking forward to is the biology quiz today. Justin was right when he said that they were going over what they were learning last year. I studied last night before we went over to Luke and Justin's apartment and before Diane and Jon came home. I still wasn't completely confident though.
I changed into skinny jeans, a sweatshirt, and black combat boots. I grabbed my backpack and headed into the kitchen. Allie's parents were already gone by the time I went down for breakfast.
After 10 minutes, I heard Luke's Charger pull up in the driveway. "Allie, get your butt down here! Luke's here!" I screamed before going out the front door.
"Hey," Luke smiled. "Hello!" I said in a cheerful tone. "Allie should be out... Now!" I said when she came out the door. We jogged over here and have him a small peck on the lips.
We finally arrived at the school but got there early. I used my time wisely and began studying. Justin pulled up five minutes later and it seems like every girl was falling over him when he started fixing his hair after he took his helmet off. I rolled my eyes.
"Hey, sweetheart!" Justin said when he passed me. Every girl beside me was falling head over heels for this boy. They started fighting about who Justin was talking to when he said "sweetheart" I wasn't going to be put in the middle of the argument by telling them that Justin was unfortunately talking to me.
The bell rang, and I hurried to find Allie and follow her to my first class.
Lunch could not have come faster. I used any extra free time in my classes to study. After lunch was Bio and I was not ready.
We bought our lunches and sat down. I was probably completely zoned out for half of lunch before someone interrupted my thinking.
"Why do you seem all jittery?" Allie asked.
"Sorry, it's just I have a small quiz today in bio and I Bio is my worst subject and Im not ready." I rambled.
"Let's go then," Justin sat up. "What?" I asked. "C'mon. I get help you with this. It's easy stuff." He nodded towards the hallway. I looked towards Allie, and she shrugged. "I would if I were you, Farrah." Luke added. "Justin's a beast in Bio."
I sighed but threw my trash away. "Let's go get my notes." He said and led me to his locker. He grabbed a blue binder and walked to the staircase. It was empty, except for a few wandering seniors- I suppose.
After maybe twenty more minutes Justin and I had gone completely through his notes. He explained what I didn't understand better. He quizzed me about two times all the way through the first section.
The bell rung I hurried to find my locker. Justin followed me in my rush to get my bio book and binder.
Justin calmly quizzed me on the most important parts on our way to the class. "you've got this, Farrah!" Justin playfully hit my head with his papers. I gave him a small smile before opening the door to the forbidden classroom. I arrived on time, and sat down.
"Alright, this is your first quiz of the semester! " the teacher announced. "Get out a pencil. I don't want to see anything on your desk except for a pencil and your quiz- anything else will be confiscated."
I placed my books in the basket on the bottom of my seat.
Justin leaned forward and whispered, "Kick ass," and then leaned back in his seat.
I took my time answering all fifteen questions. I wanted and needed a good grade on this. I might have been the last to turn it in but I felt somewhat confident in my work.
After everyone had their quiz turned in, our teacher let us talk for the remaining 20 minutes while she grades the quizzes.
"Calm down," Justin laughed. "It's only a quiz! It's only like 15% of your grade."
"Which is a pretty big portion!" I said. He laughed and continued talking to some guy. He looked familiar. His spiked up blonde hair reminded me of my mother. She had blonde hair while I had black. I had gotten this attribute from my father, Mike. I shook the thought. I hated my mother. She's the reason I'm-
DING! DING! DING!
The bell rang. I quickly got up and headed to get my books. Only two classes left.Ill hopefully know my grade my end of the day.
"Farrah!" Allie's voice filled the hallway. Everybody's head turned in my direction. I shyly turned back to my locker. "What are you looking at?" Allie asked, "your name isn't Farrah."
She quickly came over to me, and she seemed almost out of breath. I grabbed my water and took a sip. "Have you heard what's going around?" She asked me.
"No..." I answered slowly. I was scared to hear what She was going to tell me. It couldn't be that bad, could it? It's my second day here.
"Everybody thinks that you slept with Justin."
