That was an interesting chapter. Don't worry... as usual, (SPOILER ALERT) they make up :D
A year has passed, and I can't get her out of my head. Every song I write is about her. Little Things, Still The One, Nobody Compares, Over Again, and Heart Attack. They're all about her. It's so hard to let go of someone you love. I just hope the old saying is true.
"If you love someone, let them go. If they come back, it was meant to be. If not, they were never yours."
Maybe I just need to fight harder for her. That's all. I look to my bed side table. A picture of me and her on our first date sits their in solitude. I pick up the picture in its frame and smile back at the memory.
The fans seem to have forgotten about Ciara. So has the paparazzi. I'm just glad she's okay. I'm so thankful for her friend Katie, giving me daily update. I just still don't know where Ciara is or what she's up to. All I know is that she's safe. I want to make it up to her. I don't know why she won't believe me. I did nothing wrong.
"I play soccer too. Well, teach it. I do volunteer work for Autistic children."
"That's really nice" I stated. "What's it like?"
I was so interested and I truly cared about her answer.
"It's amazing" she began. "When you can do something for someone in need, you get the most amazing feeling in the world. Your heart just feels complete when you see the little kids smile. When they get their first goal ever, you feel like you've accomplished something, like your purpose in life is to make that child smile even more. I've been doing it since I was eleven, and I'm seventeen now. Six years of volunteer work. I can't imagine myself not doing it."
I was full of admiration, care, curiosity, and interest.
"When is the next time you're volunteering" I asked.
"In one hour" Ciara said, checking the time on her phone.
"Do you mind if Liam and I join?"
"Not at all, but we better head over now if we want to make it on time."
"Okay, but first, show me your little routine you were doing before."
Liam joined me as Ciara skated into the center of the rink and showed off her skills.
"That was outstanding" Liam commented.
"I'm speechless" I added.
She cautiously stepped of the ice, unlaced her skates, cleaned them off, and put them away. Liam and I took off ours, and returned them to the rental station.
"So are you from New York" Liam asked her as we began to walk to the soccer field.
"Born and raised" she told us. "What about you? Where are you two from?"
"I'm from Wolverhampton, England" Liam began.
"And I'm from Mullingar, Ireland" I finished.
"That's awesome. I love Europe!"
"It's amazing" I agreed.
"So who are the other band members" she asked as we stopped in a coffee shop.
I grabbed a magazine and pointed out the boys to her.
"They seem like amazing people" my new friend remarked.
"They are" Liam said. "And Niall and I can't wait until you meet them."
"Until I meet them? what do you mean?"
"Yeah. We were wondering if you would like to come to our concert tonight" I asked.
I hoped she would want to come. I didn't want her to go.
"I don't have tickets."
"Right, but we do."
Ciara finally agreed to join us, and we continued our walk to the soccer field. When we got there, I saw a little girl wearing a 1D sweatshirt. I immediately walked over to her.
"Hi. What's your name" I asked.
"This is Melony" her mum had said. "She has stage 1 Autism. Are you one of the volunteers?"
"For today I am. I also know I'm going to make your daughter very happy."
The woman looked at me in confusion.
"She likes One Direction doesn't she?"
Melony's mother nodded.
"What if I told you that I know that two of them will be here today?"
"Will they really?"
"Well, you're talking to one now. I'm Niall" I said, taking of off my glasses and shaking her hand. "And Liam is over there."
I yelled for my friend.
"Liam, this is little Melony. She's a fan of us. And this is her mum."
Melony's mother bent down to Melony and told her who we were. The little girl went into hysterics and started crying happy tears.
"Niall and Leeyum" she mumbled.
We took off our hoods so she could see us, and her face lit up in excitement.
"Mommy! It's Niall and Leeyum" she repeated, tugging on her mum's shirt.
"Would you two sign her sweatshirt for her" her mum asked.
"Of course" Liam and I told her.
We pulled out a sharpie that we keep just in case and signed it.
"If you want we can take the jumper and have the others sign it. Then we can mail it back to you" I suggested.
"That would be amazing! would you really?"
She gave me her phone number, address, and Melony's sweatshirt, and thanked us.
"The boys are going to get you Harry, Louis, and Zayn's autographs too!"
Melony, upon hearing the news, jumped up and down and hugged me and Liam. I felt so happy knowing I made the little girl happy. I turned around to see Ciara helping a little boy score a goal and smiled. She looked so at home and comfortable. The little boy plopped down on the ground, so she did too. They laid on the turf laughing together. he looked about 10 years old. The two seemed as if they knew each other. The little boy didn't look like he would be Autistic, but I bet he was, considering he was at an Autistic soccer clinic.
Looking back at the memory, I now know who the 10 year old boy was that Ciara was playing with. It was Chase. Chase is Autistic. Stage 1, just like Melony, but you can hardly tell. He just acts more childish than a 10 year old. That's all. I wonder how the little rascal is doing. I miss him.
Most of all, I miss her.
I got a new job today. I got into medical school last year and now I'm an intern at a hospital in Colorado. It's nice here. I like it, and Chase gets the proper education. He and I go skiing everyday, when I get home from school. I enjoy the time I spend with him and Katie. She's such a great friend. I met here when I moved to Colorado. Ameli had helped me get a flight here, back when I was staying with her. We still keep in touch. The thing is, Ameli is friends with Niall. She tells me about how he can't stop talking about me. I use her as my source to Niall. I know it's wrong, but I never stopped liking him.
"Niall is calling you again" Katie tells me.
"Just decline it. I'm working on a project at the moment."
"Oh! what're you painting today?"
I took up a painting class as an extracurricular for school and I've gotten good at it.
"You painted Chase" she asks.
"Yeah. He wanted me to, so I did."
"It's amazing babe."
I honestly don't know what to do still. I'm sharing an apartment with Katie, only paying a third of my school tuition due to an art scholarship I received, and I'm working night shifts at a local hospital.
"It's time for me to get to work. Feed Chase some of the left over pasta from last night please? He'll be excited for his favorite dish again."
"No problem. I'll see you in the morning. Night Ciara."
I grab my bag and walk out the door, ready for another night shift. I can't help myself but wonder...
What's Niall doing right now?
