Ace of Blood

Alice has found a new kind of wonderland.
Jamie Cunning is just an ordinary girl. Sort of. Bearing the scars of a thousand painful memories, old an new, she found a strange set of friends in the abandoned and untended headstones of a nearby cemetery. But this girl who prefers the company of the dead to that of the living finds a shocking new life thrust upon her when she is shoved into a world of danger and death. The worst of all: it lurks just around the corner. The paperboy. The school bully. The neighbor. They may all be a part of it. Watch out, because Ace is always watching, and you never know how the cards will fall.

44. The True White Rabbit

Damn, the girl was smarter than he’d given her credit for. The White Rabbit – the real White Rabbit, for the others were simply imposters pretending at something they could never hope to be – sat calmly, his eyes wide in fake shock.
“Enough, Tera,” Zes said, catching the spinning girl. The Rabbit thought that maybe she really was just as broken as her mother, if in different ways.
But the last Tera would never – had never – guessed his secret, guessed the identity and purpose of the White Rabbit. She hadn’t even glimpsed the hidden strings behind the scenes, the hands that controlled him and the fakes alike, manipulating them like puppets.
This Tera wouldn’t either. The Rabbit swore to himself that he would never let her succeed.
