My mum drove me and Padfoot to the train station where we would meet Mooney and Wormtail. That way, we could all get a compartment together. And I just might get some feedback on the love letter that Mooney helped me write. That was step one of my master plan. Next, I have join the Slug club and show her that I can clean up my act a bit. If all goes as planned, I'll have Lily on my arm by the end of first term.
I haven't seen her since school ended, and if she has changed physically as much as Mooney has then I'll be dealing with a whole new girl. Mooney has gotten at least a foot taller, his voice has dropped about four pitches, and his hair has gotten browner. And a lot more handsome too.
As we met up with the others, I could have sworn I saw her red hair flash by.
"So fellas, we gonna cause all sorts of trouble this year?" Serious said as we approached the others.
"Dunno, I here Prongs is going to join the slug club." Lupin spoke now.
I gave them a big smirk, "Just to see Evans, don't go thinking I'm giving up my old tricks."
They chuckled and we carried our luggage on board. As we walked, we scanned for an empty compartment. When I looked to my right, I saw one.
"Hey! Guys I found one." They all turned around and I opened the door and threw my trunk up top. They followed and thumped down on the seats. I flipped my to the left when I saw her. She was in the compartment across the hall. I don't know what happened over the summer, but she became a bombshell. Her face had become stunning and she had gotten thinner. Her hair was parted to the side instead of in a tight bun. It was down and flowing. I realized my jaw had dropped and I probably looked like a complete fool. She turned her head to the right and she looked at me in the eyes. She smiled and waved at me. I wish I had my camera so I could look at this moment forever.
"Close your mouth Prongs. You'll catch flies." Lupin said pointing a finger at me.
I stood up and opened the door I the compartment. As I got up I motions my head for her to follow me. She blushed and said something to Marlee, who waved her hands for her to go. Finally, she stood up and followed me. I walked down the hall to the luggage room and waited for her to catch up. I turned on the light and closed the door.
"What is it?" She seemed kind of worried.
"I ran my hand through my hair. "It's just, your so...so...so beautiful."
She smiled and looked at her feet.
"I just wanted you to know that." I sounded so stupid.
"So let me get this straight. You had me follow you to a luggage room made for the professors' luggage...a place we're not supposed to be. Just to tell me I looked beautiful." There was kindness in her voice and she looked at me with a sly smile.
"Well I just-" My sentence was cut off by her lips pressing against mine. I was so surprised that she kissed me, I took me a minute to realize what was happening. I put my right hand on her waist and held her close to me. She didn't pull away so I held her closer. Then she let go, and I just beamed at her. She blushed really hard.
"Sorry I just didn't know what to say." She rubbed her shoes on the carpet and pointed her toes inward.
I brushed a piece if hair out of her face and smiled. "It was the perfect thing to say."
She plunged into a hug and wrapped her hands around my waist and up my shoulder blades. I put one hand on her waist and the other on the back of her head, holding her close to my chest. We stayed like this for a minute or so and then she quickly jumped from my arms and her eyes flooded with fear.
"Why did I do that?!" She said panicking.
"What do mean?"
"I kissed you! Why would I do that?!" She was pacing back and forth in the tiny closet.
"I honestly thought it was fabulous." I said leaning back against some luggage with a smirk on my face.
She shot me a dirty look. "You! That's why I did it! Because I absolutely, positively hate you James Potter!" She was up against me again.
"Pardon?" I was calm on the outside, but totally confused on the inside.
"You have to go leading me into a closet and telling me I'm beautiful and-"
I ran my fingers through my hair again but she slapped it down.
"And running your fingers through your hair! How can you expect me not to act that way?!"
"Keep your voice down, Evans!" I was whispering now.
"And the way you call me Evans! Oh! That infuriates me beyond belief!" She was raging now.
I was trying to force her to be quiet. "Shhhhhh!!"
"And you know why I hate you most of all?! The fact that I can't hate you."Her voice dropped down to a whisper in the second sentence.
She slumped her shoulders and sighed.
"You're positively perfect James Potter and it infuriates me. Every time you do something horribly wrong or cruel, I try to find someone else but, you're to perfect. No one else works now and I hate it. I hate that I'm always thinking of you." She leaned against another. Wall of luggage and sighed again.
"Sorry, but if it helps, I think you're perfect." Apparently, that was the wrong thing to say because she have me a dirty look and smacked me across the face, and stormed out. I tried to follow her but, I had a feeling I would get slapped again. I rubbed my face and walked back to my seat to see her slap Serious as well. She turned on her heels and slammed the door of her compartment and rolled down the blinds. I walked in my compartment and stumbled to a seat.
"What do you do James?!" I heard Serious exclaim, clutching the left side of his face.
The sting had worn off, but the minor pain still remained. "I told she was beautiful, she kissed me, then she hugged me, then she started screaming at me telling me that I was too perfect, then I told her she was perfect, and she slapped me and stormed out." Wormtail snickered and Lupine shot him a dirty look.
"Really?" Serious smiled slyly, "You kissed her?"
I gave a proud half smile,"She kissed me."
He laughed a little, then rubbed his face again.
"Why's she slap you?" I asked.
"I asked her how far you and James got."
I actually laughed out loud at that.
"So are you going to go sort it out?" Mooney asked with a serious expression.
"I'm afraid that she'll bruise the other side of my face."
He gave me a face that read "Really...".
I sighed and got up, stepped out into the hall and knocked on the compartment door. No response came so I knocked again. Them Marlee opened the door a crack and stuck her head out.
"What do you want James." Her voice was tired.
"I'd like to speak with Evans."
"Hold on one minute." She closed the door and I waited outside in the hall way.
Finally, Marlee popped her head out again.
"Lily doesn't want to talk to you right now."
I sighed and looked up at the ceiling.
"How about tonight?" I said with exhaustion in my voice.
"Hold on again." She popped back in again.
"Yes. She will meet you in the Gryffindor common room tonight."
I sighed in relief. "Good."
Marlee smiled and closed the door again. I sat back down and closed the door.
