"Evans!" James called out from the doors, the others following behind him. His arms were out stretched as he walked toward us.
"Therrrrrrrre he is. All in one piece." Marlee said sarcastically.
"As promised." I said smiling at him.
What's the point in hating him right now? I mean, he hasn't done anything wrong yet.
He sat down right next to me in the empty seat and folded his hands neatly on the table.
"Well ladies," he began, "What are we having this fine morning?"
"Everything." I replied eyeing all the food.
Sirius snuck up behind me and stole the strawberry off my plate to which I slapped his hand down.
"Ow!" He exclaimed rubbing his hand. "You need to stop slapping people!" He was just sitting down next to James, when Becky came prancing towards him from the other end of the table, beaming.
"Hello Be-" His voice was cut off by her grabbing the front of his cloak and kissing him passionately.
A few whistles and whoops emitted from the Gryffindor table in the duration of the kiss that I think Sirius was still not aware of. His eyelids were light and fluttery.
"Oy! That a boy." James said a grin across his face.
"James!" I said in an angry whisper.
"What?" He said still smiling.
I gestured my eyes towards Elaine, just so she couldn't see me.
"Oh whatever. She has to deal with it." He said waving it off.
I huffed disapprovingly and turned to finish breakfast just when she let go of him and turned to us.
She sighed with a smiled and fixed her hair a bit and turned to Elaine, who looked like she was going to explode. She was gripping her water goblet and her knuckles were white.
"Well, I'll see you all in Charms!" With that she headed back to her friends.
Sirius stood their stunned, still smiling. He remained glued to the floor.
"Well that woke ya up, didn't it Padfoot?" Peter said punching him in the arm and immediately laughing at his own comment.
Sirius blinked a few times before dreamily replying, "Yeah."
Elaine's water goblet shattered under her death grip. Her hand was bleeding a bit but she stayed looking forward, her face as red as a beet.
"Um," Marlee said gingerly looking at Elaine's hand. "Um, Elaine. I uh think, your hand is um bleeding."
She didn't respond, but her eye began to twitch.
James leaned in and whispered in my ear, "Maybe she's using her eye twitch to communicate through morse code."
I sighed and looked at him. He was inches from my face when I said with a shrug, "At this point, I believe it."
Lupin pulled out his wand and pointed it at the water goblet.
"Repario." As he spoke, the shards of glass flew up into the shape of the goblet again and connected with a small clink.
Elaine's wound sealed itself, but was still covered in fresh blood. She finally took a napkin that Marlee gave her, cleaned her hand, and left the hall with her school things.
"That was strange behavior." Lupin said taking a bite of bacon.
"Well," My voice seemed to be trailing off. "She has been a bit distraught lately." I took a sip of milk as James took a piece of toast off my plate, obviously not listening.
"You know," I said taking the toast out of his hand and putting it back on my plate, "They make enough good for everyone."
James winked at me and said, "You look so stunningly beautiful when you're angry."
I rolled my eyes and finished the last of my breakfast and waited for Marlee before we left the Great hall and headed for Charms.
