Hey guys, so I know I've been talking about reading lately, not exactly a popular thing but for my readers out there, stay strong! In this first section I'm going to explain why I love reading. Honestly, it's not as stressful as people make it out to be. I love reading just as much as I do writing, maybe even more. Okay, there won't be any format to this chapter, just kind of paragraphs on this topic.
Why I love reading
Reading is one of those things where it's just as amazing as watching a movie. If you read, you can categorize characters to your liking. If you want one specific person to be one specific character, there's no one stopping you. You can leave it up to your imagine to think of how things would look. It gives you this world to escape to and build it ground up. When I read it's like I'm living each moment in each character. If they die, so do I. If they laugh or cry, so do I. It's true when they say I've lived a thousand lives. Each book I read feels like I'm living a brand new life. It transport to a place where I can imagine myself while reading. It's as if I am standing right next to the character, doing the things they are, experiencing the feelings they are.
Quote- You read a book and it fills you with this evangelical zeal, and you become convinced that the shattered world will never be put back together unless and until all living humans read the book.
And it's true. All the emotions while reading. It's as if these events are real, and these people are. Not to mention you can get some amazing quotes depending on what book you read.
Now let's talk about how reading benefits you. First and I think this is a big one. If you read, you speak more creatively. It fills you with this new passion and when you speak, it's with all kinds of emotions. You speak passionately and tend to be inspiring. You see things differently and you appreciate so much more. It's as if you're living in your own personal heaven. You have a more unique outlook on life. It's almost refreshing the way readers think. I'm proud to call myself one.
Another benefit is it increases your vocabulary. You have storage for larger, more descriptive words. Sure, anybody can describe something was pretty. Ugly. Gross. Stupid. Funny. Yet when readers describe something, we surpass those words. We find synonyms ten times better that sound better and are so much more descriptive. Instead of pretty, ugly, gross, stupid and funny, we have.
Exquisitely beautiful. Angelic.
Repulsive, revolting. Unpleasant.
You get the idea. We have a way of explaining things.
Another benefit is it helps you school. You may not do it intentionally but reading will help you in school. Also, a lot of the time, the reason for hatred of reading is due to schools. People like to read books of their selection. In most schools they assign a book to you. If you don't want to read that book, or find it boring...uninteresting that gives a negative outlook towards reading. If you read something you enjoy, and find pleasurable than it gives reading something positive. It makes you want to read. That's pretty much it for this chapter. Give reading a chance! Go look at my book recommendations and begin reading one of them.
