Four years later.......
"Emily!" I shouted towards the family room. A little girl popped her head out from the doorway and stared at me.
"Come on sweetie, Niall will be over soon to have dinner with us. Let's get you ready." She ran across the wood floor twirling and jumping, while she giggled happily to herself. She sang quietly, "Ni Ni is coming!"
I chuckled and picked her up. I just held her for awhile, absorbing the proudness I had for not only my little girl but myself for turning out pretty good without any support. It was a huge accomplishment for me and it made me feel a little bit taller.
"Mommy, can I get dressed by myself today?"
I looked down at her in confusion. She would throw tantrums every time I would ask her to get changed by herself.
"Sure" After one last smile, she scooted out of my arms and skipped up the stairs.
As soon as her door shut my phone rang, the gentle ringtone playing softly. I slid to answer and brought the phone up to my ear.
"Hey Niall." I sang out.
"Hello Annalise my darling." He started, his words making me blush. "May I bring a guest to our evening plans?" God his Irish accent is so sexy.
"Sure. Who are you bringing?"
"I just thought it would be nice for you to meet my band members, that's all. I thought it would be nice for you to meet them before we go on another tour." My smile fell. Niall being on tour was the most painful thing. He was my sanctuary. Everyday without him is as if the sun is not shining.
"Okay. See you around six."
"Okay. I love you!" He shouted like a little kid.
"I love you too" I laughed. Then, I pushed end call.
At around six, I finally finished setting the table, making sure to add the extra plates. Emily was already sitting quietly in her chair, her fingers coiled around a Disney Princess cup. Her curly dirty blonde hair was fashioned into two pigtails, pink bows placed at the top.
Just as I was about to sit down for the first time, the doorbell rang. Figures. Behind the door was Niall, a huge bouquet of red roses in his hand. He gestured them towards me and I quickly grabbed them and put them on a table in the foyer.
Without hesitation, I jumped into his arms and clashed my lips with his. After a few seconds, he placed me back on the ground, so I was looking up at him.
"So I'm guessing you missed me?" He grinned.
"More than anything."
Niall scooted away from my grasp and turned around. Behind him were three men about his age. They stared at me in a peculiar way, as if they were checking if I qualified for Niall's girlfriend.
"Annalise I would like you too meet my friends. This is Louis, Liam, and Zayn." They came up and shook my hand in the order Niall said their name and I was very pleased. At least Niall's friends were polite and damn good looking.
"So what did my amazing princess make for me?" Niall questioned enthusiastically.
"Come on Ni! You just got to see your girlfriend and you want food already?" Zayn shouted.
I giggled. "I'm used to it. And I made tacos."
"YESSS!" He screamed running to the kitchen.
I started to walk after him when I noticed that the boys weren't following me. I turned my attention towards them and have then a questioning look.
"We're going to wait for Harry. He's late as usual." Louis said looking at his silver watch.
I nodded my head and headed towards the kitchen. Niall was already putting his toppings on his taco.
"Niall! Wait for your friends!" I playfully scolded making Emily giggle next to me. He dropped the spoon in the bowl of tomatoes, a caught expression on his face.
"Niall" someone shouted from the other room. He stood up straight. Familiar if the voice, Niall walked causally into the foyer.
"Annalise, come meet Harry!" Niall hollered. I walked into the foyer and my smile automatically dropped.
Standing there was the man I dreaded I would ever meet. Billions of people in the world and this one guy had to be standing in my house out of everybody else's house in the world. He was back. He is back to ruin everything that I have worked for and made. He is back to dig up the past that I had put every effort to bury for the past four years. But it was true, and I could not in any way make it false. Harry.
