With quick steps I left the house and moved towards the park. Even from far away I could see that not much was going on. It was an early morning; a few walkers and joggers were already on the way. People ate breakfast or a picnicked already, but only one person sat motionless on a bench with a bag beside him. He wore sunglasses and sat almost wrapped up there.
"Very inconspicuous," I said, as I was close enough to him. With a smile, he turned in my direction and shrugged.
"I know, but what else should I do?" He said and sighed.
I sat down beside him and looked over the lake, which stretched before us. He began to tell me of his ideas and I ate, nodded and threw some ideas from me in, until we finally decided to go to the water park.
"I'll pick you up within ten minutes from now, okay?," he asked and I nodded. We quickly parted and I jogged almost home because I had to pack a bag with bathing suits and towels. Jeremy was no longer there, so I was alone at home. Just before the time was around, my cell phone rang. At first I thought it was Justin who wanted to tell me that he was already there, but then appeared Sasha's picture on my screen and I answered it.
"What is it, Sasha?"
She sobbed and told me how Jeremy had called and insulted her, because she had Justin simply reveal where our spare key was.
"As if I would tell everyone how to get into your house! I knew that Justin was doing nothing wrong," she defended herself.
"I know" I tried to reassure her, "but Jeremy has a problem with that. He doesn’t like him or guys like him... Justin's a stranger, Sasha."
These words kindled in my throat. It honked outside and I quickly added, "But it's okay, just don’t do that again, okay? I have to go now; we want to test the choreo in the water park. Tomorrow we meet again in the hall, tell everyone else about it. See you."
I quickly hung up and left the house.
When I slipped into his huge car, I noticed that Justin had changed. It would be a warm day and he was wearing shorts and a white T -shirt. The sunglasses covered most of his face, so big was it. As soon as I had strapped me, he took it off and drove off with a serious facial expression.
"Can I ask you something?" He said, looking with a fixed view of the street.
"Go ahead," I said, trying to keep the excitement to a minimum in my voice.
"Your brother..." he began hesitantly. "He thinks he knows me and told me that I would only use girls... He said that I should stay away from you and also not to show up if he's there." We stopped at a red light and he looked me straight in my eyes. "Why does he hate me that much? He doesn’t even know me. Why doesn’t he give me a chance?"
In his eyes I could see that he had been thinking about it all the time. Before I answered his questions, I asked him a question in return. "Why is his opinion so important to you? He's just one of many."
"Because he's your brother. I have a lot to do with you, not just the last few days. In the future probably too and I don’t want our relationship... our friendship to be overshadowed. Certainly not, because he doesn’t even know me... because if he would, he would know that I am not like that." He looked me one last time in the eyes before he looked back to the road and hit the gas.
And I? I could only stare at him. I had chosen to carry my fate. To be the forgotten lover of Justin Bieber and to play a strange girl, not knowing his likes or dislikes, which I knew better than anyone else. But still it hurt so incredible.
I cleared my throat. "I- I," I began and then had to stop, because I had no explanation. I feverishly searched for a while when I realized that I was apparently important to Justin, which surprised me, because obviously he didn’t knew me anymore.
"You know me hardly. How can you say that I will be a part of your future?," I asked and he gave a short laugh.
"Because I like you and with you it's just so, mhm, simple. So normal. You know?"
I nodded and started to look outside the window.
"Well. Jeremy... he... just doesn't want that I am disappointed or hurt. He knows how much pressure you're standing under... and he doesn’t want that I am thereby alters somehow."
He nodded, then began to shake his head.
"Nevertheless, it is still your decision with whom you have to do."
"He is my brother, Justin" I said and he sighed.
"Okay. I admit my defeat. Let's talk about something else, okay?"
I nodded and told him that I had ordered Mega Jam in the hall tomorrow so that they could learn the choreography. "In a few weeks the video can be recorded, they learn pretty quickly," I finished and Justin pulled into the parking lot of the water park and parked.
"Great. Scooter will be pleased to hear that."
He smiled at me and I tried to smile back.
We got out and reported us. Justin had called and reserved the entire park. Amazed, we entered the park and Justin whistled softly through his teeth.
"Not bad," he said and I could only nod.
The park was amazing, even better than the pictures on the internet. It was huge, everywhere slides overlapped. The basins were filled with turquoise water, trees were placed perfectly at the edges, bridges were directly above the pelvis... awesome.
"It's perfect" I said and looked at Justin.
We parted and changed, then we met in front of one of the bridges again and explored the park. It took us an hour until we were able to identify the locations and counseled us to be filmed from any direction. The time passed quickly, but we didn’t notice. Justin played the song on permanent loop and we moved, danced on the ground, in water, practically everywhere. All the time someone came up with new ideas and we threw the old overboard. We laughed all the time and at some point we sang together his song.
We were so close as we had never been separated. As if nothing had happened and as if he had never forgotten me.
Completely exhausted, we rely on each other and tried to breathe properly. We had the sequence now firmly in mind, we knew how it should proceed.
As my stomach growled, we laughed again, and finally went to a kiosk to eat. A huge plate of chips stood in front of us and I greedily took a few. I was incredibly hungry and couldn’t think straight.
We ate a while until Justin laughed and asked, "Since when do you dance?”
I thought for a moment and then answered honestly. "Actually since I can think. My mom used to be a show dancer, you know? I have the talent simply inherited."
He grinned. "That's pretty cool. Is your brother also Show dancing somewhere?" he asked, laughing, and I giggled.
"Not that I know, although I can understand that there is not a thing that you won’t give to see him in a tight dress."
We burst out laughing and he winked at me.
"You have seen through me," he cried, I laughed some more as he got up and swung his leg. "In fact I would like to join him; do you think I 'm sexy enough?" He asked, blowed a kiss and I swallowed with at a fries.
We both laughed so much and he just pulled his eyebrow and batted his eyelashes and asked "Is that a 'yes'?"
I nodded, smiled and began to throw fries at him. "Incredibly sexy" I brought out and he called "Hey!" and tossed fries.
This went on until we got both hands full of chips and ran through the entire pool and threw off each other. Eventually, he said, laughing, "Okay, okay. I surrender!"
I looked around the corner and Justin was on the way between two sinks with hands raised. He laughed when he saw me and I had to laugh too. I went up to him.
"You've got chips in your hair," I said giggling.
"Where?," he asked, running his hand through his hair and looked at me.
"Exactly... there!" I said, clapping my remaining chips out of my hands on his head and stroked it in his hair.
Shocked, he looked at me, but then began to laugh, grabbed my hands and said, "You know you'll regret it?"
"As if I’d be scared of you," I replied loose and with a grin on my face.
Before I could do or say anything else he pushed me into the pool beside him. Snorting I dived again and coughed and stroked my face.
"Shit, Justin," I said in an acidic tone.
"Did I hurt you? Is everything okay?," he asked anxiously and I shook my head.
"Nothing is okay! Help me get out of here."
I reached out a hand to him and he began to apologize and took it. With a jerk I pulled him down to me and laughed at his befuddled expression.
"I think you have a wash more necessary," I giggled and he looked at me for a moment in surprise, until he laughed and said, "You tricked me!"
He tried to catch me in the water and I ran and swam alternately from him. He laughed, threatened me and I squealed and giggled.
Finally, he caught me in a corner and asked "Any last words?"
But before I could answer, I already got the first gush water. I screamed and he laughed and I started to fight back. The small confrontation became a water fight and even though we both were totally k.o., no one wanted to stop first.
"Okay, okay," I finally said and looked at him. "Let’s stop, okay?"
He laughed and shrugged his shoulders.
"Okay," he said, and dived under.
I held out for him, but didn't know where he was. The water was still so upset that I couldn't recognize him. I was quite startled when suddenly two strong arms shoved me from the side and I fell over.
Justin caught me up and said "Gotcha!" and giggled.
Relieved, I laughed and Justin took me out of the pool, although I protested and asked him to let me down. But Jus didn't cared or listened to me. When he was back on normal soil and the water dripped from us, I sighed and he chuckled.
We looked us in the eyes and his hazel eyes melted my heart. He looked at me with a surprised expression as if he would see me now in earnest. His eyes lay on mine and he looked alternately from my eyes to my lips.
I knew exactly what that meant and I had wished for years nothing ardent than that. My mind screamed at me that I shouldn’t be so stupid and fall again for him. A memory gnawed at my mind, but I didn’t want to leave the flashback in again. I didn’t want the moment to end. I wanted him to kiss me.
"But not like this!," my heart cried desperately. I didn't know if I wanted to be kissed as the one he had loved before, his childhood friend Gracie, or as the adult Grace, the new strong that he no longer knew. Honestly I didn't really care. I just wanted that our lips touched.
There were only seconds passed and we were still standing there.
Justin let me down, but his gaze was still on my eyes. We were so close to each other that I could feel his breath on my lips. Everything fell silent around us. I only saw him and hoped he’d feel the same. He lifted a hand and stroked my cheek.
"What is it about you that I doubt my principles?," he whispered and searched in my eyes for the answer.
