Harry Moffer & the Dumbest Story Ever

The story is nothing more than a full-on parody of the Harry Potter books, but this time, all references to magic are removed and replaced with nothing more than blatant realism. 14-year-old Harry Hames Moffer is an orphan living with his paranoid relatives when he is invited to attend Warthogpox High School. Harry meets Pun Teasley and Hildegarde Lamer, and they investigate the unpopular Larry Dobber books, which Hollyword could turn into a movie if they don't act fast.

25. Final Author's Note

Well, this one was a shocker.

I have decided to do this after several failed attempts to write my own version of the Harry Potter books. I have written reams of Harry Potter fan fiction, but they were not as good as, after years of indecision, I ultimately abandoned the plan.

Then I wondered about writing a parody of Harry Potter. I have attempted to do so once, with the fan fiction "Harry Potter and the Story That Made No Sense", but that tale was ahead of its time and a load of crap. So I had to abandon that project as well.

Last year, for Camp NaNoWriMo, I decided to write another parody of Harry Potter. This time, however, I decided to remove all the magic and have Harry be an ordinary teenager going to a boring high school. I also threw in a plot twist, claiming that Harry was in fact some fake boy wizard from a poorly-written children's book series that many people worshiped and the money-hungry movie-making moguls at Honnyword want to turn the Larry Dobber books into a huge movie franchise, complete with merchandising and whatnot.

The movie has to be stopped before it goes global, and who better to do that than our not-famous, nerdy boy hero. He and his two loser friends, Pun Teasley and Hildegarde Lamer, are going to show everyone, from Honnyword bigwigs, the eternally clueless Professor Snibblepore, and even the creator of Larry Dobber K. P. Tipling that you can't force people to like Larry Dobber and read his books and watch his movies without expecting some form of backlash from the church, socially responsible soccer moms, and people who just don't like to read.

Be on the lookout for the next part, aptly titled "Harry Moffer and the Really Stupid Sequel", which is in the process of being written.
