The man to my right was so big that I was being pushed onto the man to my left. His breath smelled of tuna, and I could have swore that he hadn't showered in days. At least the man to my right was clean shaven, and looked like a nice guy, maybe mid forties. I saw one of the flight attendant walking toward me, "Miss, would you mind coming with me for a moment?" I looked at her a moment, then shot up, wanting to get away from the man on my left, who was now snoring loudly.
"Yes." I wonder what she wants. I hope I didn't break any rules. We walked toward the first class part of the plane, and stopped in small room in between the curtains separating the two.
"I didn't want to ask you this with so many girls around, but there is a certain male celebrity requesting company from a beautiful young woman about your age." She glanced around the room to make sure on one was listening in on our conversation.
"Um. Depends on who this 'Male Celebrity" is." I said, put up air quotes.
"I'm sure you will like him. But he asked me not to tell you who he was. He fears that you might scream is name, alerting people of his presence. Something he doesn't want to risk."
"Oookay." I drew out the word with hesitation.
"Great. He is in a private lounge above us. If you would follow me." She grabbed my hand and drug me behind her.
She seemed eager to get me to this male celebrity, who was too famous for her to name. We came to set a stair in the back, just wide enough for us to fit through one at a time. I was really beginning to get curious. I had never actually met anyone famous before.
I had a very simple life. I didn't have a lot of money. Both my parents were teachers, so I didn't always have the nicest things, I never did. I don't have a lot of friends, I have always been bullied and picked on in school. Popularity was my sisters thing. I was a wallflower, and proud of it. My parents divorced when I was seven, and I went to live with my dad when I was 14, soon my brother and sister followed. I had never actually been to a concert, believe it or not, though I was all into music. So this was probably going to be the highlight of my life.
She stopped just outside a door at the top of the stars. "What's your name? I can't believe I forgot to ask."
"Ella." I stated.
"Okay, Ella, promise me one thing." She paused and looked at me expecting a response.
"Oh, oh, yea, sure, what?"
"Promise me that you won't freak out on him. He just wants someone to talk to. Not someone to scream and seize over his presence."
"Okay." I said, almost certain that I could keep that promise.
She turned and opened the door, motioning me for step inside. I stepped over the threshold and stopped in my tracks. I had to be hallucinating. I was staring right at mop of brown curls, hanging over the back of a couch. I knew exactly who they belonged to, I didn't even have to think.
"Mr. Styles" said the attendant as she closed the door behind us.
Harry got up and turned around to look at us. My eyes were probably bugging out of my head at the moment but I didn't care. I was in a room with Harry Styles. The Harry Styles! "Yes." He nodded in my direction.
"This is Ms. Ella. She has agreed to accompany you for the rest of the plane ride."
"Thank You, Kaitlin." He said, not taking his eyes off of me. How lucky am I to be in the room with Harry Styles! EEEPPP! DON'T FAINT! You can do this. He's just another person. He's human. He eats, breaths, has regular bodily functions just like me. I WILL SURVIVE! He walked over to me as soon as Kaitin closed the door. "So, I'm Harry." He reached out his hand for me to shake. I took it, not knowing what else to do.
"I'm Ella." I said, just staring, most likely creeping him out. He pulled his hand out of mine and went to sit on the couch again.
"You can join me if you want. I won't bite." He said, waving for me to come sit. I hesitated a moment before following. The sofa was surprising comfortable for an airplane couch. I sat there with my hands in my lap, my leg bouncing up and down with nerves. I glanced to my right to find Harry staring at me. But of course he was staring. I was sitting there with my leg vibrating like a mental patient. "You don't have to be nervous you know. I'm just a person."
"I know. It's just, I don't know how to act around people I just meet. I'm a very shy and awkward person." I looked up at him. "Sorry, over sharing." He just laughed.
"It's fine, everybody has their moments."
"It's just, you're the last person I was expecting to see. She, Kaitlin, said that you were famous, and that she couldn't say your name because people would freak. I just wasn't prepared enough I guess."
"You're fine." he laughed "we have about," he paused and glanced down at his watch. "About 10 hours to get to know each other."
"Um, ok." I grabbed my knee to try and stop it from spazzing. Calm down Ella. He's just another human being.
