*A Few Hours Later*
"So, where to first, hobbit hair?" I grab onto Dan's arm as we head into the mall.
"Well, I need a new straightener since mine broke," Dan says.
"I love your curly hair, you know that?"
"And I love yours?"
"You know, Phil told me that you like me."
"Phil," he cusses under his breath.
He lets out a breath, "I do. So?"
"I like you too. A lot."
"I don't doubt you Chloe."
"This is going to sound random as hell, but is Phil on any trips soon?"
"Wow, you've been with us not even a day and already want me all to yourself. I see how you are."
"No, it's not that way. Okay, maybe it is. But I've missed you and want to make it up. Phil awesome, but he could mess up anything that might happen."
He lets out a laugh, "Two weeks. Can you wait that long?"
"I can wait as long as I need to. We're not dating so we can't do it."
Some air escapes his nose in a rush, "Do you want to date? Do you want to be called danisnotonfire's girlfriend?"
"That is a terrible way to ask me, Daniel. One day I hope, I think. But now, I want to become close to you again. Like we once were."
"Okay Buttercup. Whatever you say."
"Ah, the nickname. Bringing it back, are we?"
"Yeah, do you like it?"
"I love it. Oh look, that shop has good straighteners. Let's go," I start pulling him in the direction of the shop. I'm glad we got to talk. It was something that needed to happen.
*An Hour Later*
"So, one last store?" Dan takes a sip of his Starbucks drink.
"Yeah. The video game store," I take a bite of my chicken wrap. We've shopped at two stores, and haven't gotten much. Dan got a new straightener, and I got a few super cute hats.
"Do you have a game in mind?"
"Pokémon Yellow. Think they'll have it?"
"Pretty sure they will."
"Good," I smile.
"Oh god Chloe, your smile."
I bring my hands up to hide food on my mouth, "Is there food on my teeth?"
"No, no," he waves his hands back and forth very quickly in front of him. "I meant it as you have a great smile," he spills out. "I love your smile," his cheeks have a pink tint to them.
"Oh," I put my hands down and feel a heat filling my cheeks. "I love your smile too."
He gives his hot half-smile, "Good."
*Thirty Minutes Later*
"I'm so glad they had it," I smile.
"Do you have all the Pokémon games now?" Dan grabs my hand. We're walking to the bus stop and it's sprinkling.
"Yes I do. Until they make more."
"Yes Daniel," I intertwine our fingers.
He lets out a breath, "I love when you call me that."
"And I love when you call me Buttercup. Now, what were you going to tell me? Or rather ask me?"
"Oh yeah. Don't think I'm rude, but where did you get so much money?"
I giggle, "You are not rude. It's a very good question."
"What was the giggle for?"
"I'm not sure. You're just really cute," I take a breath. "Anyways, some of my money I got from my job that I had from my job that I had at the little bakery back home. Five years gets you a lot, but that's not where a big chunk of my money came from."
"Where did it come from?"
"My grandparents," I sigh. "They loved me and my brother out of everyone. So they gave us most of the money they had saved up."
"I'm guessing that was thousands of pounds."
"It is. I've spent very little of it. The reason I stayed with my parents so long."
"So you could save money?"
