Dan and I are whispering because Phil went to bed a little bit ago. It's pretty fun catching up.
"Dan, I know I said it before, but I missed you. A lot," I say.
"Don't be a baby. You didn't miss me a lot. I bet you didn't notice I was gone," Dan says.
"I thought of you every day."
"Sure you did."
I snap and tackle him. "I did." Our faces are inches apart.
"I wish I could say, prove it."
I quickly peck his lips, "How's that for proving it?"
"What was that?"
"Are you trying to tell me something?"
"Do you still like me?"
"You are my best friend."
"You know what I mean, Chloe."
"What if I do?"
"Well, I'll have to do something about it."
He puts his arms around me and pulls me down, "Give you another hug."
"Dan, you're so cheesy."
"Would you ever date me?"
"Would you ever go on a date with me?"
"Let's do something tomorrow. We can go shop for some video games. Eat at Starbucks. What do you say?"
"I say it sounds perfect."
*The Next Morning*
"So, do you like Dan?" Phil asks me. Dan is still asleep, so Phil's been getting to know me.
A heart comes to my cheeks, "Yes I do. Have since I first got the nerve to talk to him."
"Is there something that drew you to him?"
"Everything. He's an interesting guy. I doubt he thinks anything of me."
"But he does," Phil is trying his best to keep me hopeful. "After you called he wouldn't shut up. His best friend from his home town was coming to live with him. What are her feeling feelings for me?" Phil mimics Dan's voice.
I give him a small shove, "I doubt the last one. But-"
"Morning guys," Dan yawns as he walks into the room. Then plops down next to me on the couch. He's shirtless and has very sext bed head.
"Morin' bed head," I lean into him.
Dan puts his arm around me. "Um, Phil. Chloe and I are going out for a few hours later."
"Have fun," Phil smiles.
I smile, "Oh, we will."
