“I know!” Harry said. I can feel him glare at me. “You can let go now.” He said, trying to pry my fingers from their grip. “NIALL!!”
I snapped back into reality and looked at him, then my hand and let him go. “Sorry.”
“Geez!” He said, looking down at his arm, rubbing it. “That really hurt.”
“Sorry.” I said again, feeling my face get really hot. I look at the floor then at Harry when he started to talk again.
“Well then, Samantha, wasn’t it?” Harry asked, referring to the girl with a One Direction shirt on.
“Close. Sarah.” She replied.
“Oh, sorry love. Hey I was close, it started with an ‘S’.” He smiled at her.
“Yes, very close.“ She giggled.
Harry offered her his arm. “Shall I show you to the other three knuckle heads of the group?”
She grabbed his arm. “I’d love to.” They walked away. It was just me and the girl. I looked at her and smiled. She smiled back and stared at me. I have no idea what to say.
Suddenly, she stepped closer to me.
“I never got the chance to properly introduce myself.” She said as she held out her hand. I grabbed it. “I’m Rebecca.” She finished and smiled.
“I’m Niall.” I said still shaking her hand. “But you already know that.” I feel stupid.
She chuckled. “Yes, I know.” We released our hands.
“Rebecca.. Rebecca…” I said slowly. “That is a very pretty and unique name.”
She blushed and looked down. “Thanks. Its Hebrew. It means servant of god.”
“Almost like an angel?”
“Yeah, I guess you could say that.”
“Of course it does.” I smiled and she looked down, blushing. If only she knew what I was thinking. She looks like an angel.
“I thought I would never see you again.” I blurted out again. She looked up at me and smiled. I feel more stupider. ‘Wow. I really need to shut up.’ I thought. I dropped my head to look at the floor. I looked at her sneakers, they were really cool. “I like your sneakers.” I said looking up and trying to change the subject.
“Thanks.” She kicked one out and tried to show it off.
“You know,” I look at her. “I always say that the shoe makes the entire outfit.” I smiled.
“Really?! I say that too!!”
I laughed. “Shall we?”
“Sure.” I lead her towards the dressing room but could not stop staring at her. “What?” She asked.
“What?” I said, coming out of my trance.
“You were staring at me.”
“Oh. Was I? Sorry. Its just that...”
“Just what?” She asked looking at me a little worried.
“Its just that… you’re different.”
She looked down and smiled, pulling a strand of hair behind her ear, even though there wasn’t really hair there. “I’m different when it comes to a lot of things.”
“No, no. I mean… you’re not like your friend. A crazed out fan. No offense. I mean I love all my fans, but you don’t seem like her.”
“None taken. Its because I am not really a fan. No offense.”
I stopped in my tracks, she stopped too. “None taken? I think.” I was shocked a little.
“No, no. I mean… you guys are very talented, and very, very… cute. And I respect you guys going after your dreams and not giving up.”
I looked at her. “Thanks. But your saying these nice things, and yet you say your not a ‘fan’?”
“Its because…” She stopped and I could tell she was thinking of words to say. “…Its because you guys never clicked for me, I guess I could say, if that makes sense?”
In a strange way I did get it. “Yeah, I get it.”
“Really? Because I don’t even think I know what I just said.” I smirked at her remark as she looked up at me.
“Yeah. Everyone has likes and dislikes. And we were one of those ‘dislikes’ per-say.”
“Don’t be, I get it. Its like… I love cheeseburgers and you don’t. Likes and dislikes make up who we are.” I smiled.
“Yeah.” She smiled at me. “That was beautiful what you said there. And just for the record, I love cheeseburgers.”
“Thanks. And good, we might have had a problem right there.”
She laughed and looked at the floor, she had something on her mind. “It just seems like whenever society walks one way, I always walk the opposite direction. I don’t want to be part of the blob of people.”
“And you shouldn’t have to be.” She looked up at me. “I admire you.” I said, after thinking about what she just said.
“What?” Her eyebrows shot up. We started to walk towards my dressing room again.
“Yeah, you’re not afraid to stand up for yourself and say what you do or don’t like. You don’t find that in many girls. I can’t even do that sometimes myself.” I said looking into her eyes and smiling.
“Thank you.” She smiled, holding my gaze. There then was a scream that broke our gaze and we looked in the direction it came from.
“C’mon, lets go investigate.” I said to her, smiling. We walked into my dressing room and saw the boys and Rebecca’s friend, Sarah, having a… pillow fight? “What the bloody hell are you lads doing?” I yelled. Rebecca chuckled. “You like that?” I asked looking down at her.
She nodded. “Your accent… its … cute.”
I looked away, feeling myself blush. “Thanks.”
“Awww, isn’t that cute. Niall, you finally found someone who likes your accent.” Liam said to me, chuckling.
“Good for you. Cause we all hate it.” Harry said smiling, looking at Liam and joining in on the rant.
“Shut up, guys!” I said sternly, getting a little pissed that they were making fun of me.
“Oh, c’mon Niall. We are just teasing you.” Liam said laughing. I shook my head and looked at Rebecca, who was already looking at me. She smiled at me and I smiled back.
“They always tease me like this.” I said to her. Rebecca’s eyebrows went up in surprise. “Especially when there are cute girls around.” I smiled. She started to giggle and looked down. I looked back up at the guys and asked the same question from before. “What are you lads doing?”
“We’re having a pillow fight!!” It was Louis. He hit Liam, who wasn’t expecting it and laughed. “Want to join in?”
