I woke up late the next morning. Very late. Probably because the whole night I was tossing and turning, not accepting the fact that Niall invited me to a party. And I didn’t even wake up by myself, Sarah had to. She was banging on my door and screaming my name, telling me to wake up and what not. I slowly got out of bed and exited my room, walking towards the kitchen.
“Jesus, you’re a heavy sleeper.” Sarah said when she saw me come into the kitchen.
“Not that heavy.”
“Oh really? I was banging on your door for like 10 minutes before you answered me. Do you know what time it is?”
“No.” I said yawning and rubbing my eyes.
“Its 1:30 (PM).”
“What?!” I said, my eyes widening.
“Yeah! Did you go to bed late or something?”
“No. I just… just… couldn’t go to sleep.”
“I was tossing and turning all night…” I drifted off and Sarah gave me a look to finish what I was saying. “… I was… I was… thinking about the party.” I said, gradually letting my voice get smaller.
“Oooohhhhhh, is that right? Are you sure it wasn’t about Niall?” Sarah asked sarcastically.
“Both.” I said my voice still small. I let a small smile escape from my lips and Sarah chuckled. I got myself some cereal and sat down at the table. Sarah sooned followed and sat down with me too.
I took a spoonful and chewed slowly, realizing I didn’t go for my run yet.
“I have to go for my run.”
“What? We have to get ready soon for the party.”
“Sarah, it is only 1:45 (PM). I think we have time.”
“Well, we don’t want to be late, especially if it is going to take us some time to get there. Do you know where you’re going?”
“That’s very true. Niall said he would text me the directions. I don’t expect it to be far. They should be staying in LA for the most part if they are here to work on the album.”
“Mmmmm. But still I don’t want to be late.” Sarah said with her finger pointing towards her chest.
I giggled. “Yes, I know Sarah.”
She smiled. “Speaking of getting ready, do you know what you’re going to wear?”
“That is a very good question. NO.” I said chuckling.
“All the more reason for you to not go for your run. You have to fine something to wear and you took forever the last time.”
“That was only because you freaked me out.” I said laughing. Sarah did too. “Do you know what your wearing?”
“Oh, is that right? Well, you shouldn’t be talking then miss.” I said laughing and mocking her from before. Sarah blushed and laughed as well. I finished my cereal and got up to put my bowl in the sink. I turned around to face Sarah, leaning against the counter.
“I will go for a quick run and then we will help each other pick out outfits when I get back. Does that sound ok?”
Sarah moaned. “Fine. But a quick run.” She pointed her finger at me.
“Yes, mom.” I stuck my tongue out at her and walked away, towards my room.
“Hey!!” Is all I heard Sarah say behind me.
I quickly changed into a pair of running shorts and shirt. I put my phone in a band that goes around my arm for music and was out the door. It was 2:00 (PM) when I left.
I returned at 2:30 (PM). As I walked through the door, I received a text from Niall with the directions to what I assumed was a house. I answered him back, thanking him and saying that I was excited for tonight. Sarah must have heard me come in because I heard her coming down the hallway.
“That was not a quick run.” She said sternly.
“What?! Yes it was. I was gone half an hour. Usually my runs are an hour or more.”
Sarah moaned again. “Ugh, whatever. We have to get ready, c’mon.” She grabbed my hand and pulled me into her bedroom.
Rebecca helped me pick out a cute navy blue dress. It had spagetti straps and ruffles going around the top of it. The dress ended before my knees; it had a thin, white belt that cinched the dress at my waist and gave me nice curves. Rebecca paired the dress with white flats to match with the belt and told me to wear big white pearl earrings and to soft-curl my hair. I got ready while Rebecca was taking a quick shower and getting ready herself. I didn’t help her pick out her outfit; she said she had one in mind but that she would ask me to help if she needed it.
I was playing One Direction while I was getting ready. I thought it was apporpriate considering we were going to their party. Well, that is a lie; I always listen to One Direction.
I could not stop thinking about Harry. He seemed to like me when I met him at the airport and backstage. He has always been hard to read, unlike Niall who you could tell liked Rebecca by the way he was looking at her. I mean I don’t know Harry, I am just going off of interviews and concerts. I remember in one interview Harry was really hurt at some of the hate he was receiving but he hid it so well. At first I didn’t think anything was wrong until the very end when he finally broke down and started to cry. Harry is very good at masking emotion it seems like.
I finished curling my hair and applied some light make up. I looked at the time it was 3:45 (PM). ‘Oh god, we have to go.’ I thought. I finished with my makeup and grabbed a little white bag that went over your shoulder and across your body. I put some makeup in it and my phone. I put on some perfume and grabbed the denim jacket that Rebecca picked out for me as well and left my room. I knocked on Rebecca’s door.
“Yeah?” I heard her say from the other side.
“We have to go.” I told her and looked at my phone. “Its 4:00 (PM).”
“Ok, I am coming. I almost done with my hair and still have to put on makeup.”
“Ugh. Hurry up!” I yelled at her. I could tell I was getting a little anxious.
“Ok, ok. Don’t worry we have plenty of time. It only takes 20 minutes to get there.” Rebecca stated calmly.
I walked away from her door and into the living room. I sat down on the couch and turned on the television.
I heard a door open and footsteps coming down the hallway. I looked at my phone. It is now 4:15 (PM). 15 minutes later. It took her 15 minutes. ‘I really hope we are not going to be late.’ I thought.
Rebecca came into the living room and smiled at me. “Ready?”
“Ready?! I have been waiting for you for 15 minutes.”
“Calm yourself.” She laughed. “Stop worrying. We will be fine. It only takes 20 minutes to get there like I said before. You don’t want to show up right at 5, do you? Won’t that make us seem desperate, when we’re not.”
I nodded my head slowly. She was right but I didn’t want to be terribly late; like half an hour or an hour late. That is too late.
“How do I look?” She smiled at me and I smiled back. She slowly spun around for me. Rebecca had on a long navy blue maxi-skirt, that clung to her legs, and a tank-top with red-and-white thick, horizontal stripes. Her hair was down and straightened with light makeup. She had brown and gold sandals on, along with gold earrings and bracelets.
“Great.” I said, laughing. “You almost look like the American flag. You’re missing some stars.”
“Is it really bad? I thought I looked ‘ok’.”
“No, no. I am sorry that was mean. You look beautiful.” I smiled at her.
She slightly smiled and looked down at herself. She looked back up at me and smiled wider at me. “Look at you. You look gorgeous.”
I laughed. “Thanks, only with your help though.”
“No.” She said while swatting her hand and laughing. “C’mon! Lets go.”
My smile grew and I got excited. “Awesome!!” I grabbed my bag and jacket and walked out with Rebecca to her car after she locked the house.
The time we left the house it was 4:30 (PM). Sarah made me feel a little insecure about the outfit that I was wearing. I knew it looked like the American flag when I put it on, that is why I picked it. I was going for a cute look, but now I feel kind of ridiculous. But whatever, I was going to this party to have fun, not to be judged, right?
We hit a little traffic on the way there. Of course, LA has some of the worst traffic in the world. But driving there in general is crazy. The directions Niall gave me were correct, but never did it mention that the house was up in the mountains. Of course, that would make the most sense, so the boys could not be found by fans. The only way you would ever find this house was if you had the address or directions to get there. It would be impossible to go out looking for it just in general, even if you did know what it looked like.
We pulled up to the entrance of the driveway at 5:05 (PM). We were stopped by a security guard who looked very familiar. It was Bob. I rolled down my window, seeing that he had a clipboard with a sheet or paper that I assumed was a checklist with names on it.
“Names please?” He asked us strictly, not even looking at us.
“Hi, Bob.” I said sweetly. Bob looked up at us and his eyes widened.
“Hey… Miss Nolan and Miss Meier, right?” He smiled.
“Yes.” Sarah and I said in unison and smiled.
“You ladies on the list?” He said chuckling and flipping through the pages.
“Yeah, I assume so. Niall invited us.” I said shyly. I felt myself blushing.
“Is that so?” Bob said looking up at me and smiling again. I nodded my head. He looked back down at his list and scrolled down it with his pen. He flipped to the second page.
“Quite a few people coming to this party I presume.” I said going off of all the names on the list.
Bob chuckled. “Yes, Miss Nolan, quite a few.” His head perked up a little and he smiled. “Ahhh, there you ladies are. In bold print no less too. How did I miss you ladies?” He looked back up at us and smiled.
“Really?! Bold print?!!” Sarah asked excitedly. I looked at her and smiled, my eyebrows shooting up because I was excited too.
“Yep.” Bob showed us the list and he was right. There in bold print it read: Sarah Meier and Rebecca Nolan
I smiled and I know Sarah did too.
“Usually, I need to see identification. But I know who you ladies are.” He winked at us. Sarah and I giggled. He pushed a button and the gate in front of us opened. “You ladies have fun tonight.”
“Thank you.” I said and smiled. “Will you be joining us later?”
He chuckled. “I don’t know. We will see. Someone has to stay here all night and make sure no crazy person gets in.”
Sarah and I chuckled. “Well, alright then.” I said. “You’re doing a fine job. See you later.”
He smiled and waved at us as I pulled away and up the driveway. The driveway wasn’t that long; just a short strip and then it came into an open area; I think the palm trees made it look longer. I slowed down and looked up at the house. It was big and absolutely gorgeous. It was basically two rectangles laying on top of each other but the top one slightly hanging off of the bottom one. It was so modern; so chic. You could definitely tell that the boys didn’t pick it out; it was definitely the record company or Simon. This looks like something Simon Cowell would live in.
I parked the car and got out as well as Sarah. She looked at me and I looked at her.
“Ready?” She asked.
“As ready as I’ll ever be.” I smiled.
She smiled and nodded. We walked closer to the house. I can smell food and hear loud music playing. We walked up the stairs and now were standing at the front door. Sarah rang the door bell since she was closer.
Suddenly, I got a wave of nervousness.
