I sit in potions, next to a girl. She's supposed to be my class partner for today. Maybe even the year. But, hey, at least I'm able to maybe make a friend.
She intently stares at the recipe for the potion, adding ingredients as needed. I'm not sure if I should do anything, she's so focused. Her bright orange-red hair slightly moves, as she stares from book to couldron, almost as if she's a broken record.
I decide to break the silence between us.
"Hi. I'm Bryce. Who are you?" I ask her, and she puts her finger to her lips. Brewing the potion, she turns to me for a brief second.
"Ray Barnes. That's my name. No siblings, no family. Orphan. Goodbye." She quickly says, before turning back, brewing the poition again. She mixes it, as it turns a bright green color, almost the color of Alex's eyes. As she continues, it turns a radiated blue, the color of her eyes. Bright like a clear sky.
She pours it into a small suplied viall, setting it on the desk. I don't even know what type of potion we where supposed to be making.
"Now I can talk. What did you want?" She asks, and I shrug my shoulders. Then I remember something she had said.
"You're an orphan?" This boy, Bryce says. I shrug my shoulders, blowing my bangs out of my face. It's nog that big of a deal. Parents and siblings dead, yet I don't fret over it.
"Yeah. So? Anyway, you're a Gryffindor, too? Hmm... if you don't ask any more stupid questions, we can be great friends." I reply to him. He can't say stupid questions, but knowing me, most likely I'll be saying quite alot of them. It's just apart of me and who I am. "So, anyway, what do you say? Friends, or no friends?" I ask him, and he shrugs his shoulders, his blonde hair flopping. I smile. "Good. We're friends now!" I take his hand and shake it, just as Professor Snape comes to check our potion.
