12. Come back to me
I stared at the picture, then at my hands. Can this be what I think? I looked at the necklace locket that held in the picture that I have always wanted to look a. It was the only thing I had of them. It lay there on the little cupboard next to the bed.
I grabbed it, holding it tight between my hands. For the first time I feared opening it, because if it was the same picture...then...
although I knew the answer, I could not open the locket. Instead I went over to the wall where the picture hung. I looked at it. I was pretty sure . I opened it slowly, then so quickly I felt my tears rushing into my eyes. But did not I want this? To find them?
I stared at the two pictures. One on the wall, the other in my locket. The very same picture. Same thing. I closed it shut, then cried with my knees pressed on my chest. I was scared. I am scared. Scared of what could happen now? What if he doesn't want me? What if knowing the truth is just...?? I'm scared from the truth!
I looked once again at the wall, this time to recognize a little locket pendant hanging on a little pin that was pinned into the wall. It had the same flower details and little blue diamond and flowers. I opened it. It had the same picture, but I was cut off from there, with a little white paper placed in my place that said, "come back to me"
"Happy birthday Liz! Dear close your eyes, we have a surprise for you!" mom turned me around, and I felt a cold thing touching my neck. I smiled, opening my eyes.
"This is the family's charm! we all have one! the boys have pendants, girls get necklaces, all have the same picture inside!" Daddy said cheerfully.
"Keep it forever OK?" Louis said. I nodded, touching it with my little hands. I was ever so proud of having it.
I jumped up out of bed, leaving the room, the house, running away, away from all this, away from reality, from my life, from my fears, as away as I could get, not knowing I forgot something.
I entered the room, feeling a weird feeling wash through my body. I quickly hurried to my room where she was sleeping. no one. empty. The pillow was wet...with tears. The nightstand...had MY pendant...and a...OH SHIT!! It was the very same one ... but on A NECKLACE... I opened it up and it had the picture in it.
Lizzie...my dear little sister who left us years ago is...back...i found her...she is...I NEED TO FIND HER...
I rushed past whatever was in front of me running in the old streets of the dark night neighborhood. I saw a shadow of a girl walking tiredly, crossing the street. I saw a big truck driving right in her direction, but she seemed too tired to notice! i guessed it was Lizzie, but couldn't really make out anything because of the darkness, instead all I saw was a shadow of a teen girl. The truck rolled down the street...and right towards her...hitting her.
NO PLEASE! PLEASE D NOT LEAVE ME. I RAN AND RAN TO TRY TO FIND WHOEVER THAT WAS! MAKE SURE IF IT WAS LIZ! PLEASE! PLEASE! I DON'T WANNA LOSE YOU AGAIN. PLEASE DON'T LEAVE...
