To the Ends of the Earth

Ava is constantly having the same nightmare, being dragged to hell. But every morning she wakes up next to her boyfriend Caiden and everything is okay. Being together is literal bliss; but in the back of Ava's mind she knows it is going to end. Caiden would do anything for Ava, but what he doesn't realize is that Ava has already done the unimaginable to keep him safe. On their eighth anniversary, Ava is taken from Caiden and dragged into the darkness of hell where she must fight for her own life and find her way back to earth alone, or so she thinks. As she struggles to escape she learns that the unimaginable exists and all the monsters under her bed were real. Because you see, she made a deal... A deal with a demon; and a deal with a demon is a deal for your soul. *note* there is foul language, some parts are a little scary and dark in nature. There are minor sexual occurrences, nothing to freak out about.*

11. Too Good To Be True

It was finally year five. When Ava woke up, she noticed immediately that it was quiet, too quiet. She stood with her spear in hand and walked around the forest, in search of something... anything.

"Hello my dear." Red Eyes said from directly behind her. Ava spun around and moved to stab him. With lightning quick speed, he grabbed her hand and took the weapon from her. "You survived with this?"

"And other things." Ava shrugged. Red Eyes rolled his eyes and threw it out of range. Then he pulled something from his pocket.

"As we agreed." He held out the glowing pendant. Ava's hand trembled as she reached for it. She felt a small shock when the cool jewel touched her skin. She placed it around her neck and looked at it in her hand. It began to glow even brighter. Ava felt warmth throughout her entire body. Then she felt all the memories. Her life on earth came rushing back before her eyes. She fell to the ground, her heart aching.

"You could have been spared of this." Red Eyes smiled. Ava began to sob, and scream. Her heart was shattering over and over, mourning the loss of her family, friends, and Caiden. It hit her heard. Without her soul, she didn't feel these emotions the same way as she should have. Once she thought it was over, the memories of hell came flooding back as well. The fiery put, was burned into her mind.

"This is my favorite part." Red Eye laughed. "Your soul will break, you will break."

"No. I. Won't." Ava said through gritted teeth. She dug her nails into her palms and bit her cheek until she drew blood. She was not going to give in.

"You should have realized that with a should comes all the pain it bears. Memories will haunt you now. And your conscious will make you feel like a terrible person, and you are. You killed hundreds of people Ava."

As he spoke, memories of her years in purgatory began to haunt her. Each kill replayed in her head, but this time she felt the remorse she lacked. Before she had killed because it was kill or be killed. She feared for her life, so she protected it at any cost. Killing had almost become a joy to her. It was sick. Ava turned over and retched. Her lungs and throat burned.

"Pity," Red Eyes said. "You would have made a wonderful demon." He wiped his hands and turned to walk away.

"Wait!" Ava croaked. "Take me back."

"Where?" Red eyes asked innocently.

"To earth. It was the deal." She said in a hoarse voice.

"No. It wasn't. I promised you freedom, and your soul. I gave you your soul and now you are free to do as you please, hence freedom." Red Eyes chuckled lightly.

"Son of a bitch." Ava spat. At this point she was coughing up blood.

"That's my mother your talking about." Red Eyes said, pretending to be offended. "I told you Ava, I wasn't going to make it easy for you."

"Fuck you." She muttered. But somewhere in her heart, she knew that it had been too good to be true.

Then Everything faded to black. Ava lost consciousness. She fell into a deep sleep, lost in the memories, pain, and reality that her soul had brought back.

All around her, Purgatory came back to life. The creatures moved around her, circling, closing in slowly. Grins seemed to be plastered on their faces. Their eyes glowing with desire, thirst, and hunger. It was snack time.

Lovelies, Red Eyes is a dick, no? haha, anyway. Looks like Ava is stuck in Purgatory, her days numbered. Uh oh... Well comment + like. I love you all very much. <3
