Sunlight poured across my room, leaving an glow on anything it touched. I sat up slowly, rubbing my eyes with my hands, stretching out. I got up and my feet hit the cold floor and I shivered, as the wood floors send sparks up my spine. I shuffled over to my closet, grabbing a spare blanket and looked at my clock. It was almost seven. Saturday morning. I smelt coffee and went downstairs. There was coffee on the counter and a coffee cup on the table half full. I smelt it and gagged. Black coffee. Gross. Dad doesn't usually leave without finishing his coffee. I looked around the house for him and couldn't find him." Dad are you home?" I walked around the house for about thirty minuets. It was silent, I could hear a person breathing from a mile away, yet I can't hear him in the house. Something is wrong. He doesn't just get up and leave. I ran upstairs, grabbed my phone and called his number. No answer. I slipped on a pair jeans, a black, long sleeved thermal, and my leather jacket, slipping on my Osiris's as I ran out the door, taking my bag and phone with me.
I ran toward's town putting my hair up into a high pony tail, not giving a shit about my appearance at the moment. My senses heightened as I ran towards town at a speed unhumanly. I could hear everything in the forest. The padding of squirrels running on the ground, to the wolves at least thirty miles away. The smell blood, brought back memory's that I tried to block, but they just kept on flooding my mind. I slowed down and leaned up against an old oak. The forest around me was spinning. Gripping the tree, closing my eyes tightly I began to feel extremely sick. I walked forward a few steps and stumbled onto the ground. I counted, focusing on my breathing trying not to throw up everywhere. Memories of my mother ten years ago came into place...
I was running around the woods, without a care in the world. My mother was following me shortly behind, with my father. It was the last time I had seen him that happy. They walked close to each other, hand in hand. My mother's belly rounded, being eight month's pregnant. She walked slowly, with one hand over her stomach, smiling brightly. Her dark brown hair framed her face perfectly, making her deep blue eyes seem to pop. She wore her leather jacket, that she took everywhere, a dark purple shirt, and yoga pants, with tennis shoes. We walked for about an hour, and I ran ahead of them to where I couldn't see them anymore and started to hear screams around the forest. Feet stormed along the ground, bright purple explosions, giant balls of fire and Ice rained from the sky and the wind started to pick up. I climbed up a tree and tried to block out the noises. I could still hear screaming, and then I realized that it was my name they were screaming. I looked around to see mum and dad running around yelling for me. I jumped down from the tree and ran towards them, yelling," Mummy! Daddy!" Dad picked me up. holding onto mum as he pulled her forward, away from the crashes. We ran until we stopped, and dad looked at mum with fear in his eyes, and went wolves looking at me, as a tear went down his cheek. The very next thing I knew is that dad was running in the other direction, towards them howling. Mum picked me up, and started to run away again. I cried as dad ran away, scared and frightened not knowing what was going to happen. Soon the noises were all around us. She stopped breathing heavily, whimpering slightly. She looked at me and whispered slightly," Arreana, listen to me. You need to go up in that tree and stay there until dad comes for you. Understand? Do not make a noise. Don't cry, don't scream. Everything is going to be okay. I promise you." She kissed me softly on the forehead and boosted me up into the tree, with her leather jacket to keep warm. I climbed up into the tree further, as far as I could climb, hiding myself in some branches, and watched ground below me. Mum ran in the other direction. Not too long after, a ton of people ran after her, in dark robes, or dark clothes all together. I couldn't see any of their faces, except one. His face as pale, and had black hair, and greenish gray eyes. In a minuet or so I could hear screams. I covered my ears, trying not to cry. It wasn't until morning till everything had died down. I was in the forest for about three more days till I got out of the tree, and stared to walk around looking for dad. Eventually I found him crumpled up on the ground, breathing shallowly. After I gave him some of my blood, he instantly stood up and looked for mum. When he didn't see her, he broke down into tears, swearing, like he knew that this was going to happen. I don't remember much after that day. I wasn't let back at school, or into town, and we had moved from England three days later.
I still remember that day almost perfectly. I held my jacket close to my face, crying into it. Sitting there I realized something that I hadn't before. They were directly after my mother that day. The only reason that dad hadn't let me go to town... is because it was destroyed. Nothing of it was left. I sniffled, and stood up, slowly making my way to town again, this time set on finding my dad again.
The town was quiet, which was normal for it being Saturday at eight in the morning. I walked over to the cafe, to get a cappuccino, and a bagel. Corey was the working today, and I asked him if he had seen my dad. No luck. Corey was an old family friend, that we had known for a long time. We chatted for a while, and he seemed more concerned than I did about it. When I was about to leave my phone vibrated. It was Devon.
D: Hey where are you? I need to talk to you asap.
Me: Why do you need to talk to me?
D: It's urgent. I need to talk to you now.
Me: I'm at the cafe.
He didn't reply. Corey looked at me," Isn't he that emoish kid that you go to school with?" I nodded and he frowned. "How old is he, and when is his birthday?"
"Seventeen, and in a few weeks I think. Why are you asking," I tilted my head slightly. He was about to answer when Devon burst into the door,"There you are. I need to talk to you outside please." He looked terrified for his own life. He pulled me outside before I could say anything, leaving my coffee on the counter.
"What the hell are you doing?" I snapped my arm away as soon as we were outside.
"Look I know your upset and all, but I need your help. I can't find my parents. They won't answer their phones, they aren't in town, and they didn't leave me anything. Something is wrong." His hands were visibly shaking. I glanced down at my phone and nodded." I don't have the same powers you do. Yes I know your a werewolf. I need you to smell them out for me or something. I don't know, what else to do. Please." He grabbed my arm and stared at me. I just nodded and agreed to help him. We headed over to his house first to find some clues.
