As soon as my mom got the call from a police man, we drove straight to the hospital. I hope Mia and her parents were ok. The police didn't really say much to my mom, but I had a bad felling in my mind that was telling me to cry. We got to the hospital and my dad quickly parked the car, not even caring that we were far from the entrance. As soon as the car was properly parked, I jumped out of my seat while slamming the door open. I jumped off the car and slammed the door shut behind me. "Jessica, hold on" my mom stated. I just ignored her as I ran over to the hospital entrance. When I got in there, I was so confused. I looked to my left, then to my right until I found the front desk. I rushed over to the lady that was looking through some papers. "Excuse me, may you tell me where Mia Gonzalez's room is?" I asked while panting like a dog. The lady looked at the computer for a while. "How do you spell her last name?" she asked in a polite tone. "G-O-N-Z-A-L-E-Z" I spelled out. The lady typed down the letters as I said it. She then started clicking a few things until she looked back at me. "She's at the 6th floor, room 121" she said nicely. "Thank you" I replied before pacing to the elevator. I pressed the 6th floor button which made a dinging noise. The metal doors slowly closed as they separated me from the lobby. I was feeling impatient. "Hurry the fuck up" I whispered/muttered to myself. After a few seconds, the metal doors started to slowly open. I didn't have any time for them to fully open, so as soon as they reached the limit of my size, I squeezed through. I paced over to one of the front desks where nurses were socializing. "Excuse me, I'm here to see Mia Gonzalez" I politely said. One of the nurses sat in her chair and started clicking a few things on the computer. "How do you spell the last name?" she asked. Really......no one here knows how to spell Gonzalez. It's the most common last name for a Mexican. "G-O-N-Z-A-L-E-Z" I once again spelled out. The lady clicked a few final things before handing me a pen and a name tag. "Write your name on the name tag, and then sign into the visitors slip" she pointed out. I looked to my side to see a clip board with multiples of papers stuck to it. I wrote my name on my name tag before sticking it on my shirt. I then took a small step to my right where the visitors slip was. I signed in with such a rush that I think no one could read my writing. "Thank you" I said before handing the nurse her pen back. I paced over to the hall, examining every room number until I got to 121. I let out a huge sigh before opening the door. All I saw was Mia on the hospital bed with an arm sling over her right arm. She looked fine, but then again she had a few bruises, scratches, and her eyes were blood shot red from crying. "Mia are you ok" I said while running over to her bed. I gave her a huge hug, not even caring if it hurt her arm. My parents rushed in, making us let go. "Oh my gosh, Mia are you ok?" my mom blurted out. Mia just let out a small chuckle. "Yes, I'm ok" she mumbled. My mom got closer to her and held her hand. "I'm so sorry for your loss" she apologized. Mia's small smile soon disappeared making sadness take over. I looked at my parents with a confused face. "What loss?" I asked. My parents took a quick glance at each other until they looked back at me. It took them a few seconds until one of them decided to speak up. "Your aunt and uncle died in the accident" my dad explained. As soon as he said that, I fell onto the chair behind me. I started to feel butterflies in my stomach from the shocking news. I tried to block out Mia's crying to try to adjust my mind to what my dad just said to me. My aunt and uncle can't really be dead, but if they were.......then how did they die? I looked over at Mia who had her head low. She was looking at her hands while crying. "How did they die?" I eagerly asked. Mia slowly put her head up. "They got into a car accident, and the car blew up" she muttered. I saw her glare at the ground. I could tell she didn't want to talk about it. "Wait, how did you survive?" my mom asked. Mia glared up at my mom. "A woman helped me out of the car, she tried to stop the driver from running away, but he just left the accident, like if nothing happened" she explained with sadness in her voice. I felt the need to cry, but at the same time I didn't want anyone to see me. As Mia was telling my parents about the accident, I was deciding to either tell Mason or not. He is Mia's boyfriend and deserves to know, but then again I don't want to worry him. My final decision was to let Mason know about the accident. He would have to find out sooner or later.
Elizabeth kept on bragging to Natalie about the guy she met a few hours ago. She also took a few glances at me to see my reaction, but I really didn't care. All I wanted was to get back to the academy and give Mia the tightest hug in the world. I then felt my phone vibrate in my back pocket. I took it out to see that Jessica sent me a text. It was kind of strange because she never texted me. I unlocked my phone and quickly read it. As soon as I read the whole text, I swear I felt like my heart just broke in half. Natalie notice that I was getting pale. "Mason....are you ok?" she asked, looking at me from the rear view mirror. My head started to feel light and everything was sounding far. All of a sudden I couldn't breathe air while everything went black.
I sat in the same chair the whole time as my parents gave Mia a long pep talk. "What time is it?" my mom asked. I turned my phone on and then off. "6:00" I simply stated. She nodded and looked over at my dad. "Are you hungry?" she asked him. I could tell she was really hurt. I could see it in her eyes. My dad nodded in reply. They both got up from their chairs. Mia glared at them the whole time. She looked like a zombie that came back to life. "We'll be back" my mom assured us. I just waved them off, trying to get as much alone time with Mia as possible. As soon as I heard the door close, I looked over at Mia. She was already glaring at me. "Hey Mia...." I awkwardly said. She kept her gaze on me. I quickly got up from my seat and moved to another to get closer to her. I made myself get comfortable in the seat. I then heard Mia mumble something, but I didn't hear her. "What?" I asked. A few seconds passed until she decided to speak up. "He's back" she muttered. I was now confused, but I knew this 'he' person isn't a good friend of ours by the way she said it. "I'm sorry to be asking so much questions, but umm.. who's he?" I nicely asked. Mia sat up, but she was still glaring at me. "Professor Dylan's back, he's not dead, he's probably walking to the academy right now" she blurted out. I looked at Mia with a confused look. She was actually serious. "Wait wait........that can't be possible. I shot him" I stated with worry in my voice. Mia just shook her head. "Well, I guess you didn't shoot him enough". I was now sad and worried. I remember shooting him, and blood flowed out, but then again we never knew what happened to his body. As much as this was making me stressed out, I just wanted it to be over. I don't want to hear anything else until I can see Professor Dylan with my own eyes. "He crashed our car" Mia added as her voice cracked. I looked up to see she was about to cry again. "I watched him run away from the accident without even turning back" she explained while tears streamed down her face. I literally just had enough with all this. I grabbed the remote for the TV that was placed in the room. I turned it on and changed the channels, hoping to find something interesting that would take my mind off of this whole situation. "Did you tell Mason about this?" Mia randomly asked. I turned my head to see her glossy eye's that had worry written all over them. "I ummm...... ya I did, I actually messaged him, but he didn't answer......he must be busy or something" I simply said with no emotion at all. Mia nodded and sighed. She looked really depressed. I just tried to keep a straight face, knowing that if I made any kind of emotion, I would brake down crying.
