I'm Not Your Juliet [ON HOLD & BEING RE-WRITTEN]

Best friends forever? Usually, it doesn't work like that. But for Niall and Maude, it does. They've been inseparable ever since they met in the school parking lot: the new kid and the friendly geek. Soon, friendship turns into something more, and they end up starting something that no one can control: love. But Niall, he's famous, and in a band, so when he has to leave, their relationship is pushed to the limit. Will it work out? Is Happily Ever After a thing of truth, or just a sweet story a mother made up a long time ago for her heartbroken daughter?
"Maude, I love you," he whispered. tears stung my eyes and I turned back once more, just to say those words - that one sentence that killed me inside, "Ni, it's too late. You forgot where you belong."

2. Chapter 1

11 Years Later

Maude’s P.O.V

Niall’s fingers twirled a strand of my short, brown hair into a ringlet. He wasn’t even watching the movie, even though he was the one who had wanted to put it on. I couldn’t concentrate on it either; I could feel him staring at me when he thought I didn’t notice.

“What is it?” I asked when he was looking again. “Do I have something on my face?”

He grinned and said, “Just pure beauty.”

I snorted. “That is the lamest thing I have ever heard. You’ve been talking to Harry Styles again, haven’t you?” He smiled sheepily and nodded. “Speaking of Harry, what time are the guys coming over? And are Perrie and El coming, too? I know that Danni isn’t; she texted me this morning.”

“Louis told me they’d be over about half three, which is in, like, an hour and a half. So that means we’ve got some time to ourselves…” He trailed kisses up and down my neck, my jawline, the side of my mouth, and finally my lips. There was a slight sense of urgency and lust to his kissing. I pulled away.

“Niall,” I whined. “Stop. We have forever and a day for that, but the movie is almost over. So shut up and watch it.” He grinned at me.

“And this is why I love you.” He pecked me once more on the lips before letting me roll back over and concentrate back on the movie – well, sort of. I could still feel his eyes burning holes in the back of my head, so I flipped him off quickly, swearing at him in French. He was smiling, I knew it, even though I couldn’t see his face.

“I love me, too,” I whispered. He chuckled in the cutest way possible that only Ni can, making shivers run up my spine.

A scream came from the telly and I jumped, practically out of my skin, it felt like. I shrieked. He started laughing at me until I hit him hard on the arm, telling him to shut up. We turned our attention back to the screen where someone was being violently murdered. I buried my head in Niall’s chest to prevent myself from throwing up.

“I thought you said this movie was great! ‘No, Maude, it’s not scary at all,’ he said. ‘It’s my favourite movie,’ he said.” He shrugged, and I huffed and hit the off button on the remote.

“Well, there was no need for that, was there?” He grumbled. I pulled the back off of the remote control and threw them across the room like a stubborn toddler who couldn’t get her way. “Come on, let’s go make some food. I’m starving.”

Niall’s P.O.V

I watched her, from my space on top of the kitchen counter, trying to make an edible-ish lunch for us, though to no avail. Maude pulled a dish out of the oven and placed it on the counter, expertly kicking the cooker door closed with her foot. It was supposed to be Lasagne, though it was crusted black, and dark smoke was swirling up from it. Beep, beep, beep, beep!

“Oh no!” Maude shrieked and fanned the smoke alarm with a tea towel. I shook my head with a smile, emptied the bowl of ‘lasagne’ into the bin, while trying to ignore the glare that Maude sent me. Before I could say anything, she said, “I told you not to let me cook.” My arms wrapped around her waist as she leaned her back against my chest, sighing in content.

“Let’s just order takeaway! The others can wait and eat at their house.”

She giggled, “Sure, although they were supposed to be coming over for lunch.” She grabbed the phone from the side of the counter and dialled the number for the pizza place.

“Hey, Xav. How are you? Yeah, we’re fine. Thanks.” We’re friends with the restaurant owners, so what? “Yup, we’d like…”

Okay, so I know this chapter was slow and it sucked and there seemed to be no point to it, but there was:

I wanted to show how when they grow up, they realise that there was more to their friendship and are now in love and living therefore together. Obviously Maude knows the boys and is friends with their girlfriends, so all is great and perfect. Also, I just want to develop the characters :)

Tell me what you thought please, as I need at least 15 comments (including the ones already posted) to update – is that too harsh? Ah well! Don’t forget to like, fave, and stuff… Love you guys!

P.s. Thank you for all the likes and faves so far! So happy as this is only chapter 2!!! Thanks.
