I soared through the skies, feeling the freedom blow over my body and through my long dark hair. Feeling it in my feathers. Life felt like it was worth living again. I searched the floor of the earth. I couldn't find Legolas anywhere. I had no idea where he was. I knew he was still alive. He couldn't have been far from here. It may seem impossible to even find anybody around here. All their was was grass and forest and maybe an occasional pond or lake. Other than that, that was it. I continued searching for Legolas when a swarm of little black specks began to spawn across the land. I soared down to find out what it was, still maintaining my distance just in case. The bigger they got, the more I started to guess what they were. Animals maybe? Nope. Orcs. I flew into the forest, softly landing in the trees and poking my head out just enough so only I could see the orcs. They all looked furious. The leader looked over in my direction but I knew he couldn't see me because his gaze crossed my path. "Continue to search the area! We must kill that girl!" He screamed as the orcs began to run to different parts of the land. They were still looking for me? Orcs must never give up. As long as they didn't see me or couldn't find me, I was okay. I wasn't safe, but I was okay until then.
The orcs seemed to sense a presence in the forest because they started to head in my direction. I had to leave. I slowly climbed to the very tip of the tree I was standing on and took off. I soared directly over the trees so as not to grab the orcs attention from far out. I had no idea where to go. I had that big clan of orcs to worry about, I had no idea where Legolas went, and I was pretty sure the orc I left is searching for me himself or joined up with his kind in support of finding me and bringing me to my death. Either way, I wouldn't let that happen. I had an ability that nobody else had. I had the ability to fly. How could someone fight another being who wasn't even standing on pure Earth? I continued to search for hours, but I had no luck. I decided to take refuge in a tree so at least I had an easy way to escape. I hunted down a small animal, cooked it and ate. Immediately I climbed up into a tree and fell asleep. I was exhausted. The least I needed was a good nights rest.
The dwarves and I ran back to Mirkwood. We jumped off our horses and ran inside. "Elros! Where's my father?" I speak up, grabbing his attention instantly. "He is in a meeting right now. What do you need?" He asks. "Tell him I need to speak with him immediately. It is an emergency." I say sternly. I must have looked extremely stern because his eyes widened and immediately ran off to get him. I stand at his post, guarding the keys to the dungeon for him. A few moments later, he returns with my father. "What is the matter Legolas?" He asks, a mix of concern and worry painted over his face. "We can't find Aquilia. She went to distract orcs and hasn't come back since." My fathers eyes widen. "How long has she been missing?" He asks sternly. "A month and a bit. We went out searching but we couldn't find her. I came here because I needed your help." I said. "Why didn't you come sooner?!" He raised his voice. "Because I felt responsible for this! Aquilia wanted to distract the orcs and I allowed her. When she didn't come back, that was when I panicked and did the first thing that came to my mind." Thranduil stares at me as he speaks the words. "You wanted to search for her yourself." He answers. I nodded. "Legolas, I understand that you panicked, but if you knew she was missing, you should have come to me right away! Why didn't you use those crystal balls I gave you?!" He asks. My eyes widen at the thought of them. I had completely forgotten about them. If I had just used the one, told it to take me to Aquilia, we wouldn't have been in this mess. "I forgot I had them on me." I answered, feeling ashamed of everything. "We can talk about this later. The important thing is I help my son find the girl he loves." He says. "Elrond. Go to the meeting room and dismiss everyone for me. Tell them that is my order. I have something more important to deal with." My father says. "Yes sir." Elrond says and leaves to tend to his task. We run through many rooms and gather a whole bunch more of elves. Enough for the search party. We meet out front and everyone gathers around us within ten minutes, horses, weapons, everything. We wait until everybody has arrived and my father delivers an information. "I apologize to take you all away from what you were doing, but my son's girlfriend has gone missing. She was last with my son more than a month ago. She wears a jacket like ours, is around 5' 8'' and has long dark hair and dark eyes. We will divide into different parts of the land. Stay in the area's you are assigned so it is easy to get back together afterwards." He finishes and nods over to me. "LET'S GO!!" I shout and we begin the search.
I was walking through the woods quietly, searching for the girl when I ran into the master orc. "Where have you been?" He asks. "Searching through these woods for a girl." I answer. Azog climbed off the warg and slowly walked up to me. I started shaking. He looked as if he was trying so hard not to drive a blade over my throat. "What does she look like?" He asks. He stands so close, I can feel his warm breath roll off my face. "Long brown hair, around 5'8, dark hair and dark eyes." I answer. Azog turns to the rest of his clan. "WE HAVE ANOTHER!!" He shouts. The army roars. "Your part of us now." He says and shoves a helmet and shield into my chest. Gothmog comes up, bringing a warg with him. I jump on and put my helmet on. From this point on, I will be doing something I never wanted to do. Fighting for a girl I love.
