4. Still In The Woods
"Well, you are more than welcome." I said. Aquilia and I sat in silence for a bit until Aquilia got up and turned the deer around. "only ten more minutes." She said as she sat back down. I added more wood to the fire to help cook the deer faster. "So." I said, trying to lift the tension between us. "Do you have much experience with weapons?" I asked. "Actually, yes I do. My father trained me with knives and bows and arrows at a young age. I found myself to be better with knives so thats why I carry knives and only knives." She said. "How many do you carry with you at once?" I asked. "Six, But of course I only use two at a time." She said. "How good are you with aim?" I asked. "Does this answer your question?" She asked as she whipped one of her knives out behind her and slit another deer right in the throat. I felt my face go pale. All I could do was stare. Aquilia went to go get the deer. She strapped it to another stick and carried it over to the fire. We took off the already cooked deer, skinned the new one and took the meat and put it over the fire.
I took off the cooked deer and put the freshly killed one on the fire. We instantly dug in, devouring each bite. "Man this is good! You really know how to hunt!" Legolas said cheerfully. "Haha thanks. My dad taught me at a young age but because he's gone now because of some really stupid orcs, I always hunt on his behalf." I said. "Aww I'm sorry." Legolas said. "Thanks. That happened years ago. I occasionally still get upset over it but I know I can't do anything about it." I said. "That's right." He said. We spent about 20 minutes eating until we were full. "Let's go look for a stream to wash off in." I said. "Good idea." Legolas said and we got up and walked deeper into the woods.
