15. Planning My Escape
I stared back into Legolas's teary eyes. I was crying myself but my sobbing was silenced by the orc covering my mouth. "I love you Aquilia" He whispered softly to me, even though he couldn't see me. "I love you too, Legolas." I said in my head, not being able to move my mouth, or move at all actually. I wanted to jump out and be with Legolas. I wanted to but I couldn't. I feared that the orc would kill me if I tried anything. I was too stoned to move. I was sweaty from being trapped in my own terror about having to choose to stay alive and silence myself when Legolas came to save me, or try to grab his attention and die before he came to my side. Once the orc knew they were gone, we came out and he released me. "What the hell is your problem?! I love him! Why can't you just let me go?!" I hissed at the orc. "We made a deal, didn't we? Now follow it or you know what will happen." He said as he sliced the air before his neck with my knife. "Now, until you learn to not be so aggressive with me, I will keep your weapons. Hand them to me." He demanded. I sighed and gave him my bag of knives. He took the bag and secured it to his jacket. "Good. It's getting late. Let's go get dinner." He said and pulled me along. We walked out to the woods. In the opposite direction Legolas went. I stood in the grass, watching the group of men as they made their way farther and father from us. All I wanted to do was run. Run from the orc and towards Legolas. I didn't care about my weapons. I just cared about being safe for once. "Dinner isn't going to get itself." The orc said. I turned around to meet his gaze. It was neutral. As if he felt no pity for what he was doing. I walked with the orc as I watched the men leave. Their figures becoming more impossible to make out in the distance with every step we took. The orc slung his arm around my waist, pulling me along with him. "Remember. Do as I say, and I won't lay a finger on you. Simple." He says and kisses me on my temple. I shudder. I hated being kissed by this orc. I hated orcs period. I just wanted to take my knife and bury it into his skull. We came to a small part of the woods and set up a fire. "Now, do you want me to get you something, or do you want to hunt for yourself? Under my supervision of course." He asked. "I can hunt myself." I said. "Alright. You can go first." He says as he jerks his head, telling me to go with him. He goes into the bag I gave him and pulls out a knife. "I will only let you use your knives when you hunt for your own food." He says. Handing me a knife. I nod and walk out into the woods. I spot a baby deer. I hide behind a tree and focus on where I want to hit it. I draw my arm back and throw the knife. It hits the animal in the chest and falls to the ground. I walk over and begin to cut up the body. I skin it and take all the meat from it and bring it all back to the fire. "Impressive." The orc says. I look up at him and give him a death glare. "Don't think that sweet-talking me will make me change my feelings for you." I said as I started a fire and set the deer meat above it to cook. The orc sat beside me and put his arm around my shoulders but I shrugged my arm. "If you want me to be with you, don't show affection for me, got it?" I snapped. "Whoa. A chick with an attitude. Alright then, if that's what you want." He joked. I shook my head and stared at my meal cooking over the fire.
After I ate, I set up an area to sleep. I layed down and waited for the orc to go to bed. I made sure to watch where he put my knives. He put them under a pile of leaves and walked over to me. He lay down behind me and wrapped his arm around my stomach and nestled his snout into my neck, inhaling my scent. "Goodnight sweetheart." He whispered. "Goodnight." I replied with a grin. I made a plan in my head. I would get up extra early before the orc got up, take my stuff, and run. I felt adrenaline filling my veins. I had a very good feeling about this plan. I just knew it would work.
