9. Jealousy in the Air
We started walking through the meadow. I walked alongside Legolas. "Shouldn't we know which way we're supposed to go?" I asked. "Of course." The master of the dwarves said. "Well it doesn't feel like we know where we're going." I said. "Well, seeing you can fly, why don't you fly up and be our guide, we'll keep an eye on you so we know we're heading the right way. "Alright." I said I flew up enough so I could see. "The Lonely mountain, right?" I called back down. "Yes!!" Thorin called. "This way!!" I called as I flew over top of the trees, enough so everyone could see me. We spend at least an hour walking through the forest until we came to a stop. "Aquilia! Come on down for a bit." Legolas called. I soared down and noticed everyone was getting food. I picked a freshly grown apple off the branch and bit into it. "Hey Aquilia, could you get those two apples for me?" Kili asked. "Yeah sure." I said as I flew up and picked off the apples. I tossed them down to Kili who tossed one of them to his brother, Fili. I landed back down on the ground. "You know. Your pretty cute for your age." Kili said as he slowly walked up to me. I slowly walked backwards until I hit a tree. Kili kept walking up to me until he was right at my feet. I looked up into his dark eyes. "Gawd. You are so beautiful." He said as he put his hand to my cheek and starting leaning in and tilting his head. Our lips were just about to meet when an arrow slammed into the tree right beside me. I started breathing heavily as we looked into the direction the arrow came from. Legolas slowly put his arm down without taking his eyes off us. He wasn't happy. "You are so lucky I didn't kill you." He said in a low voice as he walked up to us as he gave Kili that death glare as we walked "You really expect me to listen to you?" Kili asked as he turned his body towards Legolas. "If you don't want to die miserably, then yes." Legolas said with his teeth clenched. "Whoa whoa guys. Easy!!" I said as I stepped in between to separate them. "If I'm coming, I don't want any fighting. No one should have to put up with any fighting." I said. "Exactly." Said Thorin as he walked up to us. "Kili, back with the group where I can keep an eye on you." Thorin said. Kili growled at Legolas and gave him a dirty look as he walked off. "I'm sorry. I just didn't know how else to handle that." Said Legolas. "It's fine. I understand your upset, but next time, come up to us, don't launch a bow at us and have it a centimetre from my head." I said. "Yeah I've gotta work on that. I'm sorry I scared you." Legolas said. The dwarves turned to us. "Ready to continue?" Asked Thorin. "Yes." We all said. "Good. Aquilia, lead the way." Thorin said. Everyone divided themselves to make room for me as I quickly picked another freshly grown apple and ate as I jogged and flapped my wings. I lifted off the ground as everyone got their horses and followed with Legolas right behind me.
