After a few minutes of searching, Aquilia and I found a little stream. I sat down at the edge and washed out my mouth as well as around my mouth. I looked over at Aquilia who was washing her mouth and any cuts she had. She also refilled her canteen. "What do you wanna do now?" She asked me. "Do you want to go for a little walk and then we can come back here to set up camp?" I asked. "Sure but let me go get something first." She said. Aquilia walked down the path and walked back up shortly after. "Oh right. I forgot about the deer." I said when Aquilia came back with the deer in her arms. "This isn't for me." She said. I became confused. "What do you mean it isn't for you?" I asked. "Well, after you brought me back to your home, I thought it would be a good idea for me to help pay you back for how generous you are already being." She said. "Aquilia. I can't accept this." I said. Aquilia joined her hand with mine. "Well you have no choice." I said. I squeezed her hand gently. "Thank you so much." I said.
We walked back to Amadeus who we had left tied up. I untied him while Aquilia climbed up. "So...how was your night so far?" I asked. "Far better than I planned. I thought I was going to get myself killed by those orcs until you took charge when I passed out." I smiled. "I was actually walking right by that walkway when I heard you fall. Of course I didn't want you to just die so that's why I brought you back to Mirkwood, and now that I did, I realize I am so happy with myself that I made that choice." Aquilia started blushing. "So that's the name! Mirkwood. I like it." She says. I laugh. "It is a nice name, isn't it?" I ask. Aquilia nods. "Thank you ever so much for everything." She says as she gave me a peck on the cheek after I had climbed onto Amadeus. "My pleasure." I said, blushing in the process, as I got Amadeus into a trot.
We make our way through the woods and into the bright sunlight. The land was still sunny, but not nearly as sunny as it was earlier. It was sunny enough that only the treetops were covered in the sun's light. We hop off Amadeus as we approach a cliff that led to the sea. "It's beautiful." I said as I looked into the horizon. The sun was still a golden orange and made the water look as if it was orange juice. "Not as beautiful as you." Legolas said. I felt my face go tomato red. Suddenly, from the distance, we heard the orcs coming. Legolas and I quickly staggered back just as they approached us on a cliff higher up. Legolas quickly got out his bow and an arrow and aimed it at the orc masters head. "You try to kill me and I'll kill her." The master of the orcs said. Legolas's eyes went wide and looked at me. I decided to defend myself against the master of the orcs. " Like you can attempt that." I muttered under my breath. Legolas giggled and put his hand to his mouth to muffle his laughter.
"What was that?" The Master asked. "Just put it this way. I'm more capable of things than you are." I said The orc master growled and swung his axe at me. I backflipped over it as I got my knife out and stabbed him in the chest. I pulled it out and the orc dropped to the ground, moaning in pain and grasping at his chest to try and stop the bleeding. I turned back to Legolas and noticed he had turned pale and was still looking at me wide-eyed. "LOOK OUT!" I shouted at him as I pointed. Legolas spun around in the direction I pointed in and shot the orc. By now, we were overwhelmed with orcs. Legolas ran over to Amadeus and quickly untied him. I continued fighting one of the orcs when one of them got me in the leg with an axe. "AHHH!!" I screamed in pain. "AQUILIA!!" Legolas ran over and helped me make my way over to Amadeus. I used my good leg and climbed up onto Amadeus and held the deer in place. Legolas hopped on and we zipped through the woods with the orcs behind us. It took about ten minutes of running through the forest until we lost the orcs.
We ran back to Mirkwood. Legolas helped me off Amadeus and got him back in his stall. "Aww my god this is really bad." I said. I had a bad cut on my left leg. "Lean on me and just hop along." Legolas said as he wrapped his arm around me and hung on to my wrist. I wrapped my arm around Legolas and hopped through the hall on my one foot. "Father! We need your help!" Legolas called. "What is it son?" Thranduil asked. "It's Aquilia. She's injured." Legolas said. "Come with me." Thranduil said. We followed Thranduil until we reached a little room. "Just lay on this table for me and I will treat you." Thranduil told me as he and Legolas quickly cleared the table. With Legolas's help, I hoisted myself up onto the table and pulled up my pant leg to where the cut was. "Aw god this hurtssss." I said. My leg was covered in blood. "Don't worry. My father has dealt with this many times. He knows what to do." Legolas said as he slipped his hand in mine. I gave a little smile. "Quite a cut you have there." He said. "Stupid orcs and their stupid weapons." I cursed. "I know. That's all they're interested in is killing. This will hurt." Thranduil said as he poured something onto my leg. "AHHH!!!" I screamed with my teeth clenched. Legolas held me down. "I know it hurts but just please stay still as best as you can. It won't take long." He said as Thranduil took a cloth and wiped off my leg. "Are you going to be doing much to my leg?" I asked Thranduil. "No. All I will do is clean it, put a healing ointment on it and stitch it up." He said. I set my head back down to the table. Thranduil got some herbs and pressed down on my wound with them. I bit down on my bottom lip in pain as Thranduil removed them and stitched up my wound. The needle hurt like hell but it was worth my life. He then got a clean cloth and a pin. Wrapping my leg fairly tightly with the cloth, he stuck the pin in. "There. All finished." He said as he reached his hand out to me.
I took his hand and he pulled me up. I slid off the table slowly while Legolas supported me. "Is there anything else I can help you too with?" Thranduil asked. "No. But I decided to bring something to say thanks to both of you for saving me." I said. "Oh? What would that be?" He asked. I nodded over to Legolas and he walked back the way we came. A few moments later, he came back with the deer I had killed and cooked. "Oh my. Thank you so much Aquilia." Thranduil thanks me with much gratitude in his voice. " You welcome. And a special thanks to your son for saving me. He's the reason I'm here. If I wasn't, I'd have no clue where I would be." I say as I look over at Legolas with a smile, he responds with a smile and a friendly wink. God he was handsome. "Well this is very much appreciated." Thranduil says. I gave him a smile. "I already cooked it. All you have to do is warm it up." I said. "Alright. Now go back to your rooms and have a good night." He said as he ruffled my hair. Legolas helped me walk back to the room. As soon as I got in I collapsed onto the bed. "Looks like my dad and you are already off to a good start." Legolas said. "Haha yes. I think so. Anyway, I'm tired and my leg is sore. I'm going to get to bed." I said. "Very well." Legolas said as he made his way to the door. "Good night." He said while standing in the doorway. "Good night." I said quietly and Legolas closed the door.
