7. A HUGE Surprise
At around three in the morning, I woke up to serious back pain. I realized Legolas's arm was still around me. I couldn't just wake him up. I slowly lifted his arm off of me and rested it gently on the matress. I slowly got up and walked into the bathroom and turned on the light. The bright light hurt my eyes considering the fact that I had been sleeping for who knows how long. I pulled up my dress and saw I had some black goo hanging from each of my shoulder blades. "What the heck?!" I said. The goo moved around until it had taken the shape of wings. "Aw my god." I said. I put my dress back down. I walked out of the bathroom and turned off the light. I tiptoed back to the bed and woke up Legolas by gently shaking him.
"Wake up Legolas." I said. Legolas took in a deep dreath and rubbed his eyes just before opening them. "What's wrong Aquilia?" He asked. "There's something I need to show you." I said. "What is it?" Legolas asked. I sat down at the edge of the bed while he got up. "Put your hand on my back." I said. Legolas did what I asked. "What on earth is underneath the dress?" He asked. "Unzip the top and see." I said. Legolas pulled the zipper down and my wings sprouted out. "Oh my god. When did you notice this?" He asked as he zipped me back up. "Just now." I said. "I woke up with bad back pain and went into the bathroom to see what was wrong. That's when I discovered goo hanging from my shoulder blades. and then it formed into this." I said. "Did you know if this could happen?" Legolas asked. I shook my head. "Well can you...fly?" "I don't know. I would either have to cut slits into this or change back into my old clothes" I said. "Hand me one of your knives." Legolas said. I reached over into my bag and pulled out a knife. I handed the handle part to him. Legolas took it and gently cut slits into the dress. "There. All done." He said as he handed me my knife back by the handle. I put it back into my bag. "So, do you think you can fly?" He asked. "Let's see." I said.
I flapped my wings and started to lift off the ground. I flew all around the room and land back down in front of Legolas. "Well that's a definite yes." He said. I nodded. "Let's go back to bed. We have to get up in a few hours." I said. Legolas agreed. I got into bed with Legolas laying on his side and me snuggling into his warm body. Legolas pulled me close to him and kept his arm around me. I looked up into his deep crystal blue eyes. "Goodnight." I said to Legolas. Legolas looked down at me and smiled, his blue eyes sparkling in the moonlight as I looked back down and allowed myself to dissolve into the warmth of his body and slowly fall into a deep sleep.
"Goodnight." Aquilia said as I looked down at her and smiled before she looked back down and fell asleep. God she was beautiful. "I love you, Aquilia." I whispered to her before falling asleep myself.
