"Addie, I really like you.” Relief washed over my insides and I was a bit calmer, “But you have to understand that if I were to ask you out properly, Harry would serve my head on a platter. I’m not sure if you knew this or not but he set up rules with us about you before you came here. I guess someone really did you wrong and he doesn’t want you to get hurt again or he’s just overprotective.”
I nodded, it was both of those. I bit my lip to keep my cry from coming out. No one had mentioned my ex-boyfriend in ages. He was one of Harry’s old mates. A year older than us and his name was James. He was my boyfriend of a year and on our anniversary I caught him snogging (actually more than that) with one of my best mates, Catherine. Needless to say, Harry started to get really over-protective and looked out for me since then because he feels it’s his fault about James.
“Niall, I really like you as well. Can’t we just screw Harry? I mean how mad could it be? You’re one of his best mates…” I stopped myself, Niall was one of Harry’s best mates and so was James. He just doesn’t want to lose a friend because they treated me poorly.
“He said ‘Rule Number 1: Don’t fall in love with Addie.’ I thought he was joking. I didn’t know I’d actually start to.”
Right as I was about to say about my rule number one, my only rule. Both of our phones started ringing.
We looked at each other, then at our phones. I answered mine as did Niall.
It was Louis, “Hey, I know you and Niall are probably snogging somewhere but we’d like to start this movie and Harry is worried sick about you. Could you get home anytime soon?”
“Lou, I’m right outside the building with Niall. We’ll be up in a minute. Alright?”
He laughed, “Are you snogging outside the building with Niall?”
“Ugh, Louis you’re terrible.” I said and hung up. Niall hung up as well.
“I guess we should probabl-“ I was cut off by Niall’s lips meeting mine. I was surprised, I nearly forgot to kiss him back. His lips molded mine well. He wrapped his arms around my lower back and my hands flung to his perfectly coifed hair. His lips were so perfectly warm and pouted I couldn’t help myself.
He smirked into the kiss and he looked at me. My hands were still tangled in his now knotty hair. “Well that was better than I ever imagined.” He said in a husky voice, and he was breathing heavily like I was.
I nodded, “Uh huh.”
My phone rang again, this time mine was Harry. “Hello?”
“Dear God, Addie! Where are you? It’s forty past midnight. I thought you were going out for food!”
“Calm down, Harry. Niall and I are heading up the stairs right now.”
He sighed, “Alright, I’ll see you soon.”
Niall brought me in for one last kiss before we head up the stairs to be taunted by everyone.
Before he opened the door he whispered to me, “Come upstairs after Harry’s asleep. I want to talk to you.”
I nodded and he pushed open the door.
