CHAPTER TWENTY NINE
"You know that the Rustys cheerleaders cheer for our football games at school." Parker said. Perrie was driving him home and we were sitting in the back.
"Now I get to watch you play football." I smiled, looking out the window.
"Yes, you do."
"Did it hurt when you fell earlier, Kylee?" Perrie asked.
"Not really. I've felt worse from my own parents. Did Cher tell you what I said at Starbucks? It slipped out."
"Oh, good. And no, what was it?"
"I'll tell you later. Bye, Parker!" Perrie pulled into his driveway and he gave me a hug then walked outside. I climbed into the front seat. Perrie started driving us back home which wasn't too far away.
"So, what were you going to tell me?" She asked.
"My dad raped me and my mom beat me." I finally choked out considering I was crying. I heard Perrie sniffle so I looked at her to find tears dripping out of her crystal blue eyes.
"Don't cry. I'm okay now."
"You weren't then. Why'd they do that to you?"
"My dad was always drunk. He was basically desperate and then that happened and my mom never wanted a child, especially a girl. I remember one thing she said." I answered.
"What was it?"
"She said, 'Girls are problems. They grow up, become sluts. I hate you.' She said this to me right when I turned five just before I was put up for adoption. Of course I didn't understand at the time, but I've never forgotten." By this time, we had pulled up to our house and it was about 8:00 PM. Perrie and I got out of the car and she unlocked the door. Without saying a word, she went and sat on the couch and I followed after her. I sat beside her and she engulfed me in a hug.
"I love you so much." She said.
"I love you too, mummy." I smiled and we sat there until we fell asleep because of running around all day and crying. I woke up to a feeling on my arm; it tickled. I looked at my arm and screamed so loud. "Spider! Get it off! Zayn!"
Zayn ran downstairs and Perrie was freaking out because she hates spiders, and so do I. Zayn flicked it off my arm and smacked it with a shoe. Perrie and I were hanging on to each other in the corner of the kitchen.
"Okay, I killed it."
"Thank you." I smiled at Zayn and he went back upstairs.
"Why does Zayn stay upstairs so much?"
"I don't know. "
"He doesn't ever tell you?" I raised my eyebrows.
"No, but I trust him." I nodded and sat down on the barstool to eat dinner. I made spaghettios because they were my favourite and I was starving. Perrie kept smiling at me.
"Mummy, why do you keep smiling at me?"
"No reason." I was still wondering, but I shrugged it off and kept eating.
"It's because I'm eating, isn't it?"
"Yes. It just makes me happy."
"I agree with Leigh when she said that as soon as you walk in the room, everything brightens up because you're always happy. I like it." Perrie smiled and sat down beside me. We talked until about 10 PM, and then decided on going to bed since we were exhausted.
Okay so I realised, once proof reading this, that I had Kylee tell Perrie about her dad... But I already had done that in the first chapter. So just pretend as if she never knew. Lol
