"Hayls, he's here!" Jade excitedly whispered into my door.
"Yeah, I'm almost ready, just let him in."
I heard footsteps leave my door and I adjusted my earrings. I suddenly started to feel my hands getting sweaty. Was I nervous? I needed to calm down. I heard a muffled conversation from in the lounge room. I walked out, surprised to see Harry and Jade sitting on the couch and laughing. Harry glanced to me and his lips parted into an 'o' shape. I couldn't help but laugh.
"You look..." Harry started.
"Stunning!" Jade finished.
"I was going to say perfect, but that's good enough. Are you ready?"
I thought about it and reluctantly nodded. I felt like I was forgetting something. But I guess that was just my nerves. He got up from the couch and took my tiny hand in his large one, leading me out the door.
"Don't be too late kids. Hayley's curfew is at ten!" Jade joked.
Harry laughed and gave her a wave good bye. I turned my head to see her smiling and holding up her thumbs. I gave her an excited smile and felt eyes watching me. I turned my head back to see Harry with a smug expression on his face.
I laughed, "What?"
"Nothing. You excited?"
"Yeah. Where are you taking me by the way?"
"You'll just have to wait and see." He said, walking to my door and opening it for me. I hopped in and saw him run in front of his car to his side. He flicked through the different radio stations until he hit a song by Ed Sheeran. I smiled to myself. Ed would have to be my favourite. I looked over to Harry, who was tapping his fingers to the beat on his steering wheel and humming.
"And I hope that you'll remember me." He started to sing, but I cut him off immediately.
"You're amazing Harry!"
"You only heard my sing one line." He laughed.
"Yeah and that was enough."
I sunk back into my chair and heard him sing again. The sound of his voice was so soothing. I could fall asleep in there. The song finished and I sighed.
"You are an incredible singer."
He seemed to not care about the way he sung. But he should, because he's amazing. The sound of his voice is just the right mixture of smooth and raspy. It's incredible. A song by Bruno Mars came on and I smile to myself. I would love to hear him sing this one. I looked out the window and watched the sunset as I heard Harry sing. It would have to be the most perfect and relaxing moment of my life.
Harry helped me out of my side of the car and took my hand over to a fancy Italian restaurant. Once you walked in, the smell of food and heat washed over you.
"Reservation?" The lady behind the little counter asked.
"Uh, yeah, Styles."
It was only then that I realised he pronounces each word very slowly.
She smiled, "Right this way, sir."
The fake smiley lady directed us to a table on the outside of the restaurant, over looking the water. No doubt that Harry paid extra for the seats.
"Enjoy your night." The girl smiled.
I would hate to be a waitress. You would have to fake smile to everyone. You'd have to serve people you know. I suddenly realised how awkward it was between Harry and I.
"You're a great singer." I started.
He nodded, looking over the menu.
"Thanks for last night."
"It's no problem, really."
He grabbed my hand and looked over the menu again.
"The lasagna looks good."
He looked up from the menu and into my eyes.
I felt goosebumps form upon my skin and I shivered a bit. It was a cold night in London, as usual. I should've brought a jacket. Harry started to take off his coat.
"I can see you're shivering." He put a hand over my arm. "And you've got goosebumps."
He got up from his chair and wrapped the coat around my shoulders. I held it tight to my cold body. He must be warm because the jacket feels like a heater. I smiled, thanking him.
"I think I'm going to get the spaghetti." I smiled.
He nodded, "I'm getting the lasagna."
I laughed at a joke Harry said and he pulled my hand away from my mouth. It was a force of habit now, when I was younger I was always self-conscious about my crooked teeth. But now I'd had braces and they were nice and straight.
"Don't cover your smile. It's the best curve on your body."
I smiled at him, showing all my teeth and he laughed.
"Here's your check, hope you enjoyed your food."
The waitress was obviously showing off some cleavage for Harry, but he didn't take any notice.
"Is there anything else I could get for you, sir?"
"No I'm fine thanks." He said, not even looking up at her. He looked over to me.
"Would you like anything, Hayley?"
"No, I'm fine."
The waitress gave a clearly fake smile and I gave her a cold stare as she took our plates. She looked over to me and raised her eyebrows. I felt like screaming to her "you think I didn't see what you were doing?!" but I just rolled my eyes. She walked off with our plates and scoffed.
"Roar. You got your claws out."
I felt my cheeks heat up as I looked up to Harry.
"It's alright, babe. All of us get jealous."
I scoffed, "Jealous? Please."
"I saw. That death stare was class."
I laughed as he put up his hand, gesturing for the waitress to come back so we could pay. I started to pull out my purse when Harry stopped me.
"What are you doing?"
"No you're not."
"How about we half it."
I handed him thirty pounds.
"Harry, just take it."
He nodded and gave the waitress his and my thirty pounds.
"I'm going to the toilet."
I nodded as he left. I played with the straw in my drink until he came back.
"Ready, babe?" He gestured me his hand.
"No problem." He winked.
"I had a really good time tonight."
He sighed, "Only good?"
"Maybe I should come in and make it better." He winked.
I laughed, "You can come in if you want."
He stopped his car and excitedly got out, letting me out too. We reached my door and I got my keys out. I could tell Jade was home. Harry walked in and closed the door behind him. I turned around, having him in between the door and me.
"I'll be right back." I winked.
I walked into Jade's room to see her watching TV.
"How was it?"
"It was great, but you need to leave."
"Yeah, um, he's here."
"Oh okay, I don't want to be a twot block."
"Oh god, Jade just.. okay?"
"Yeah, I'm leaving."
I left her room and went into mine to get changed into something comfortable. I came out wearing a baggy top and some shorts. I came out to see Harry standing in my kitchen, leaning on the bench and smirking.
"You look ravishing." He winked.
I laughed, "Thanks."
"Do you want me to make you anything?"
"I think I'm pretty full from dinner."
"Really? I've got some ice-cream."
He laughed and I walked over to the freezer. I felt arms wrap around my hips as Harry slipped something into my back pocket. I turned my head over my shoulder to see Harry smiling.
"What was that?" I whispered into his face.
"You'll find out."
I could feel his warm breath on my face as he came closer, putting his forehead on mine. I looked at his lips, which curved up at the corners to form a perfect smile. Dimples dented his cheeks and he pulled me closer to him, kissing me lightly on the nose. I smiled and turned my head back around to the freezer. He held onto my waist tightly and nuzzled his face in my neck.
"We should watch We're The Millers. I haven't seen it in a while."
"Well I haven't seen it at all."
I turned and faced him, "Are you serious. We are definitely watching it then!"
He chuckled and I grabbed the ice-cream and put it on the bench.
"Hey, Hayley, I'm gonna go."
"Okay Jade have fun." I waved.
"You too." She winked.
He closed and locked the door and Harry looked at me.
"What?" I laughed.
"Did you make her leave?"
"No." I lied.
"If you think something's going to happen between us, then I just have to tell you, I'm not the type of girl who has sex on the first date." He joked. I chuckled to myself as I grabbed some Nerds from the cupboard. I poured them into the ice-cream and mixed it all together.
"Woah, I don't want to get diabetes."
I scooped the ice-cream into two separate bowls and handed one to Harry. He got the spoon out of the ice-cream and dug in.
I laughed, "I thought you said you were full?"
I walked over to my TV and bent over to grab We're The Millers from its drawer.
"I think I'd rather watch this." He joked.
I turned around and was confused until I realised half of my ass was showing as I was bent over. My cheeks started to heat up and I sat down, putting in the DVD. It started and I turned off the light. Harry had made himself comfortable on the couch as he laid down on the long end. I went to my linen cupboard and grabbed out a blanket when I remembered about the thing Harry slipped into my pocket. I pulled it out to see the thirty pounds I had given him and I laughed. I walked back in the lounge room to see him already laughing. I handed him the blanket and sat on the other side of the couch. He looked over to me with a confused expression.
"Come over here." He gestured his fingers for me to come over.
"Who said they didn't have sex on the first date?"
He laughed, "Just get your sexy ass over here."
"Woah." I laughed. "Feisty."
I walked over and sat up next to him. I heard a sigh escape his mouth, when suddenly, I was pulled down. He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled my face into his.
"That's better." He whispered. He gave me a kiss on the cheek.
"Why'd you give me back the thirty pounds?"
"A gentleman will never let a lady pay."
I laughed, "You'll learn soon that I'm no lady."
I closed my eyes quickly and Harry wrapped his arms tightly around my shoulders, bringing my face into his warm chest. He gave me a kiss on the forehead and turned his head back to watch the movie.
"Can you sing please?"
He laughed, "Sure thing."
He started to whisper When I Was Your Man into my ear and I fell asleep.
