Counting My Wishes

I'm just an average girl that is sarcastic, funny, and always being myself. I'm not the typical girl you would think I am. I don't go crazy for the new fashion lines that girls wear, or go crazy over annoying boy bands. Just one of those...what would you call it? Tomboys. That's it. I never thought in a million years that something so little like a piece of paper would come into my life and change it entirely. I never wanted anything to do with One Direction. Life decides to throw stuff at you and you usually don't get what you want, am I right? Well, it happen to me... Copyright Shyviolin. Please no duplicating.

36. Chapter 36

"Got an 8?" Harry looked my way.

"No, goldfish."

"It's go fish." Harry corrects me.

"I know it's go fish, but I like how my sounds." I stick my tongue out at him, resting my chin on my hand.

We've been playing go fish for the past hour or so, and everyone is at the field playing games. I just hope this day will end soon. I can't stand being here.

"Hey, are you Karen's daughter?" A girl around my age stood before me, looking down at me.

"Yeah, I am. You are?"

"I'm Tina, your grandmothers, cousins, daughter. I hope that wasn't confusing." She smiles.

"Well hi." I smiled.

She glances behind me to the boys with a questioning look. "Say, aren't you two from that boy band? What's it called? One Directon?"

"Yes we are. I'm Harry." Harry extends his hand out to her, shaking her hand.

"I'm Niall." Niall does the same as Harry.

"How'd you guys meet?" She looks back at me.

"A radio contest."

"So you know the other boys?"

"That's cool." She looks back at the family playing games and back to me. "Do you wanna join me with the family playing vollyball?"

"Nah. I'd rather not, but thanks for coming to ask." I gave a weak smile.

"Don't let your cousin ruin your day." She lightly punches my shoulder.

"Trying not to let her." I groan.

"Wanna just walk around at least?"

Niall elbows my side, pushing me towards her. I shoot a look back at him slightly shaking my head. I roll my eyes looking back at her. "Sure...why not?"

We walk together down the sidewalks around the park. The park was really calm if you kept waking away from the reunion party. We passed by a couple parties that were just a few feet apart from each other. I look to my side to see Tina gazing over a small lake. We walk towards it, stopping by the bridge that went over it.

"So...who's your mom?" I break the silence.

"Becky, who's the daughter of Laura." She talked, motioning with her hands.

"Oh Laura! Yeah, I know your grandmother! She's so nice."

"Yeah I love her." She smiles.

I walk over to the edge of the lake picking up a pebble, throwing it as it splashed running down the water. I sit myself on the ground looking down at the lime green water. After a while, I pick at the grass ripping some off.

"So what happened between you and your family?" I look up at her confused.

"What family?" I look back down picking the grass again.

"Well the people you talked to when you were little."

"Supposedly we drifted away from the family, but that was a lie. They started ignoring us after some other crap that happened with my grandmother. Some chose to forget the past, and the others choose to make rude remarks." I shrug.

"If I could, I would switch places with you."

"It's not like I'll see family after this. I live in the UK after all."

"Wow. I suddenly don't feel that bad for you." I chuckle at her remark.

"I don't plan on coming back anyways."

"So what's up with you and the boys? Anything...interesting?" She wiggles her eyebrows.

"No! No romance anywhere between the boys and me. Not looking for a relationship within a hundred years. I've never dated." I shake my head.

"Never?" She seemed shocked. Why does everyone react the same way?

"So what if I've never dated anyone." I cross my arms.

"I bet you're waiting for your true love to come one day." She smiles widely.

"No, not really." I assure her. My phone suddenly buzzes in my pocket. I fish it out pushing the home button to see I've received a text message.

Text message from: Styles

Styles: Hey ur next to the ice cream truck get me an ice cream :P

I look around and see Harry from the tent smirking. I unlock my phone texting him back.

Me: R u spying on us?

Styles: Maybe...

Me: dude that's...weird (/-.-)/

Styles: r u getting me an ice cream or not?

Me: I don't have money XD

Styles: check ur pockets...

I search in my pockets to find a 20 dollar bill in my back pocket. I look over at him shaking my head.

Me: how'd u get this in my pocket?

Styles: I have my ways. Now get me an ice cream!

Me: I actually texting Harry, or is this Niall?

Styles: ...

Me: Niall!

Styles: wut?

Me: ugh. What do u want?

Styles: vanilla! Get yourself and Tina one too

Me: not arguing ahah

"Let's go grab an ice cream." We walk over to the truck as we wait for our turn. We walk up to the man as we order our ice creams. I pay him as he hands us them, giving me the change. I thank him and we walk back towards the tent.

"Here Horan." I hand him the ice cream and change.

"Keep the change." He takes the ice cream from me.

"What?! You didn't even get me one?" Harry puts his arms out upset.

"Want mine?" I hand him mine.

"No I was kidding."

"Oh, Niall give Harry his phone back."

"Tattle tail." Niall mumbles, handing Harry back his phone.

"Niall!" Harry slaps his arm. We chuckle as we continue to eat our ice creams.

I sit next to Niall as Tina sat by Harry. We chatted for what felt like forever about each others lives. Well, mostly Tina because everyone knew mine and the boys.

"Andy!" I hear a young girls voice shout. I glance around the park to see one of the closest people I ever talked to.
